I'm wondering if this is a tps problem but when I switch from first-second or usually any other gear for that matter the Rpms don't goto 700-800 but it stays at about 1800 and slowly drops back down. It's annoying just because I know it's not how it's suppose to be running any help is appreciated

It could be the TPS. The way to check is to back probe the TPS and do a ohms check. The resistance should rise and fall smoothly with movement of the throttle. If it does not or the resistance value stays at one value in certain parts of the range of movement then the TPS is probably bad.

If it is buy one from the dealer, aftermarket TPS's have been known to be unreliable. Chinese crap.

Never looked at it but now that you brought it up it should not drop to idle when shifting. Mine drops maybe 100-200 rpms when I shift between gears. I shift at 2,500-3,000 rpms normally to keep it in the peak torque range.

Good point. That would be a really slow shift if it had time to drop all the way to idle!

Yeah I can remember at one point hitting the clutch in would automatically make it drop to below 1000
