Secrets for Softie?

Hey Everyone, took the hardtop off for the first time this a.m. Next, I'm going to put on my soft top. I'll be solo. I've got the amazing production that is the 'Wrangler Owner's Information' DVD...but wondering if you have any secrets, tips, advice on how to install onto Jeep. Only has 4 screws so it can't be that hard (famous last words...) Thanks in advance....

After you get your door surrounds on and mount the soft top on the back, open it up and let it sit in the sun for a while. It will be a major pain in the @$$ if you do not let it soften up. It may still be hard to do, but it will stretch.

One thing I did was to put the 6 hard top mounting Torx bolts into the tub rail so that the "nut assembly" under the rail doesn't rattle or get lost. I know some people put a cargo tiedown under the bolt http://www.jk-forum.com/attachment.p...5&d=1204670784

We have the exact same Jeep! I am in the market for a soft top now nd there are so many options! Are you installing one from the OEM or did you buy an aftermarket?

I just put my soft top on today too!!!! Two things, none of the instructions mentioned disconnecting the window washer line going to the the wiper. I disconnected the wiring harness, but no mention of the line for the fluid. Good thing we saw that before starting to lift the top. Secondly, getting the front latches hooked was a bear. I let it warm up in the sun and then I pushed down on the second hinged bar (the corner of the hump right above the rear doors) from the outside, while my dad latched the front. Went right in. I too put the torx bolt back in and got two expedition gear anchors from the Expedition Exchange for the front two holes so I have another tie down for my rear net. The anchors mentioned above a great too. I Plastidipped mine to avoid scratching the tub.
