does an auto car wash fog windows ?

If by fogging you mean scratches,,,there is a possibility. I never take mine thru an automatic car wash, always hand wash my baby. Those brushes have dirt/rocks in them sometimes.

Auto Car washes are TABOO to Soft Top Windows. AND WHAT EVER YOU DO,
do not use Windex, or ANY products containing Ammonia. Most Soft Top Manufactures
even suggest never washing the Top or Windows with any Soaps that contain
detergents like Dawn Dish Soap. A Mild cleaner designed for Soft Top Cleaning,
or something similar to Ivory Dish Soap is recommended.

the above has never failed me yet. ☺

First I've heard of this.

I use Meguires car wash detergent when I hand wash. Mostly I take it down to the detail shop on the corner and have it hand washed/detailed. I haven't a clue what they spray on my windows though.
