Or a tranny cradle would be helpful.*

Hey this is Skip I live in Charlotte. What year and model of jeep do you have? I am out of town for work right now but should be back next week. I have replaced a couple of clutch's in my 85 CJ. I might be able to help unless you already found someone else.

2000 Jeep TJ SE. I've started work on getting the transmission out but if I don't finish it by early next week, I might need help. Thinking about creating a makeshift hoist with a rope, ratchet strap, hand winch and a pipe.
Thanks for replying man.

With the rain that has recently hit my progress is halted. However, I'm not sure how well my "hoist" will work once under load, so I may still need a hand whenever is best.

Well made it thru the storms last night from the project in Tenn. I will be home for a week or so. Give me a call 704-264-7448 when you are about ready.

Alright cool deal man.

Nice. Love Rubicons. Is that the REI near WT Harris?

Tranny is back in place. D-shafts connected. Now, just adjusting the Tcase shift linkage and connecting electrical connections. Should be operable relatively soon.

Good deal how it went back in easier then it came out.:thumb:

Walkingstick 06-18-2013 01:40 PM

Haha yeah no kidding.

Used a hoist, homemade, to get the front of it up a bit. Picking up some flat steel today or tomorrow the welding on my tabs.

Jeepnmud 06-19-2013 12:00 PM

Do you know how to weld and have all the gear to do it? I need to cut out and weld in the driver side floor pan at some point.

Walkingstick 06-19-2013 12:08 PM

Yeah Ive got the equipment and good welder.
It's been a while since I've welded but the welds I'll have to do are pretty rudimentary.

Walkingstick 06-19-2013 05:05 PM

And I am officially operational again. Temporary welds are holding great.
