New JKU owner. Several MODS ordered.

First I need to say this site was invaluable in helping me find the exact JKU I wanted and the aftermarket parts to upgrade it with.

Second, about me, 35 years old, mechanic most of my life and do all my own work. Although I've loved Wranglers, this is my first. Its a 2007 Rescue Green X with auto. I live in Pensacola, FL so if any locals see me around, say HI.

Third, and the best part, my mod list, which is ordered and on its way.

Body Armor 4x4 front bumper
Body Armor 4x4 Rear bumper/ tire carrier.
N-Fab nerf bar/side steps
Teraflex 2.5 suspension lift.
Teraflex monster track bar
Rancho rs5000 shocks
Black rock 18" Scorpion wheels
Nitto 295/70R18 Trail Grappler tires (34.2")
Bestop Trextop nx
Truck Lite LED headlight upgrade
Rigid Ind. Dually d2 LED flood lights
Kenwood DDX470 headunit
Kenwood 1964PS 6.5 speakers front and rear.
Kicker hideaway 8" powered sub
Tuffy rear trunk security deck enclosure
Tuffy Center console
Trex Armor Seat covers front and rear
Hypertech programmer
Synergy Front grab bars
American outlaw side mirrors

I'm sure this list will grow but that's all I have ordered for now. I will write a How-to and/or review for any of the products I got if anyone is Interested curious.

Lastly I need to thank Don Humphries at 4wd.com. He was very professional, took his time with all my questions and found me the best product/ price for what I needed.

Again I hope to help make this forum great and add to the incredible knowledge that's been assembled here.

Yeah, good luck with that. Hopefully your experience isn't like mine, I ordered the same thing from them nearly two months ago - they've already failed on three promised dates, and I expect them to miss the fourth as well.

GEAUXJEEPING 06-03-2013 09:34 PM

thanks, for the welcome.

woansleftpeg... If it takes awhile for the tuffy rear, Ill just cancel and get the aries. I like tuffy but the aries seems like a cleaner install than the tuffy.

County98 06-04-2013 01:49 AM

Looks like it's gonna be good and welcome!

One note is even though the trail grapplers are great tires, they're gonna be HEAVY.

This!!! Plus I didn't like the e rated tires, I'd air down to 15 and it didn't look like they were aired down

GEAUXJEEPING 06-04-2013 09:46 PM

I fell in love with rock crawling when i was stationed in AZ. Being in FL with just sand and mud, i wont be airing down much. I was looking at several different tires and just finally picked one. cooper and dick cepek were my other choices.

GEAUXJEEPING 06-08-2013 08:30 AM

front and rear bumpers installed in about an hour and a half. doing the lift today.

Got a notification from 4wd that my Tuffy deck has been dispatched. It only took two months and three promised dates missed.

GEAUXJEEPING 06-10-2013 10:28 PM

WOANS...Glad you are finally getting your deck.

I installed the besTop today and it was really simple. watched the YouTube install video twice and then just did it. took about an hour and a half and that includes removing the stock top.

The tuffy center console is incredible. more storage, lockable and about 4 inches higher than stock with a nice padded arm rest. I love it.

Body Armor 4x4 makes great products. The finish is strong and dare I say beautiful.

The Trucklite LED lights are THE SHIT. a MUST buy. I cant say enough good things about them.

I canceled my original wheel/tire combo and went with Moto Metal 961 rims and pro comp xtreme a/t 35" tires. I just didnt feel comfortable with the heaviness of the nitto's. should have those friday.

The teraflex 2.5" lift with adjustable track bar and rancho shocks made a huge difference. straight forward install. took me 4 hours to do it all by myself. that was with a lift/air tools.

This is the first time Ive spent this much money and been so happy with every prooduct so far. I will post pics this weekend. Just super busy at work right now with an Article 6 visit from the DJAG. So after work calms down Ill post pics of all my installs. Thanks for your patience.

I don't know about that. I think the aries must be designed for soft tops, because it is a PITA getting my hard top back on with the aries deck in place. I don't regret the purchase because I like the deck, just saying I wouldn't call it "clean."

Here are some pics with the rims and tires. I went with 35x12.5R18 pro comp extreme AT's and moto metal rims. The nittos are just too heavy. The pro comps are super quiet and have a smooth ride. Incredibly happy with the results. Still waiting on the tuffy rear enclosure ( big surprise) and the trek armor covers. Thanks for every ones help and knowledge.

Looks sweet.

You have got to be from Louisiana with a handle like GEAUXJEEPING.

GEAUXJEEPING 06-21-2013 04:56 PM

Yes, I'm from Baton Rouge. Living in sunny Pensacola, Florida now.

Cool. I'm in the Baton Rouge area...

GEAUXJEEPING 06-22-2013 01:03 PM

UPDATE... Replaced my trackbar bolts with shouldered grade8 bolts and had an alignment done. Huge difference. Great ride.

The power is fine for me. It's not a race car and I don't drive it crazy so I'm sticking with the stock gearing for now.

However, the brakes are weak now. MUCH LONGER STOPPING DISTANCE. So after consulting with this forum I'm ordering Teraflex's lower flex arms and their big brake kit/ master cylinder and some braided brake lines. The arms will help my alignment, the rest will help me not feel like I'm trying to stop a train.

I can't stress how impressed and happy I am will ALL my purchases. If anyone has any questions about quality or install difficulties just ask. I do all my own work and am just an average guy with an incredible wife that supports my jeep addiction.

It has really been transformed. Nice job! :thumb:

Pics look great. Let us know how the big brake kit install goes.

After driving the jeep awhile, I do not need LCA's or the brake kit. Handles and stops fine. I did however come in contact with several feet of water on the roads during a 20 minute showers we get regularly on the Gulf Coast. So the XHD snorkel will be installed this week. Still waiting on the trek armor covers and the tuffy rear enclosure. Here's the latest version

Got the snorkel installed, along with the hi-lift jack and licence plate mount. Will post pics in the am. Looks great. Sealed good with silicone. I think this install would give a beginner fits. Much more in depth than simply cutting a hole in the fender.

Rmiller31 07-04-2013 10:13 PM

looks good. I love rescue green.

NYJETS 07-05-2013 04:37 PM

How much $$$ u in so far... Mods only...

Jeepboyak 07-05-2013 04:45 PM

I hope mine will look this good one day!!

GEAUXJEEPING 07-05-2013 05:03 PM

Umm around 10,000. That's parts only but includes interior, stereo, rims, lift, all of it. . I installed everything myself so no labor costs. Only thing I didn't do was the alignment. I got a great deal from Don at 4wd.com. If anyone is on the Gulf Coast.... Pensacola or Biloxi, I will help do any mods you need help with. No charge, just paying it forward. This is the first time in my life I've been able to just buy a vehicle outright and then immediately upgrade it like I want. I'm blessed, lucky, both. So again, anything.. Even installing cruise control, which I had to do on mine. I'm here to help. And thanks for the compliments.

Here's the pics. For those that are curious about the snorkel, you can see the height about the roof line and the view from the drivers seat. The other pics are of the body armor 4x4 jack mount and the warrior license plate bracket.
