has anyone used mastercraft tires

I went to the local tire shop to get a price on some new Dura trac 285's for my stock 17's And they had some Master craft tires in the show room , nice looking tire about like the dura track tread . But they are E rated 10 ply pretty stiff . They are $30.00 cheaper then the Dura trac's But I am worried about the weight of the 10 ply's and fuel mileage. Any advise on this subject would be greatly appreciated .

Fuel Mileage in a Jeep lol.

I have Mastercraft Courser MT's 315/75/R16 and I like them. They are good for trails and such but i suspect will be poor on the roads for winter. 10 Ply you say? That explains why i dont have to supple of a ride. I havent been watching fuel mileage...

I think Mastercraft is actually made by Cooper.

One of our TJ's has a set of Mastercraft Courser CT's in 31x10.50 on it, and they have 50k miles on them. A very good all-around tire (load range C), and they are definitely made by Cooper.

according to the internet, they are made by Cooper...however, finding reviews on them is about impossible. I'm looking at a rig that has Courser AXTs already mounted, and I can't find a single review on them. I'm guessing they're brand new since the Mastercraft website doesn't even list that size as an option, but since I've seen them in person I know they exist. Look pretty cool. The tread is not nearly as beefy looking as a GY Duratrac, more comparable to a Falken AT or a Cooper Zeon LTZ.

well, I bought the aforementioned rig- after about 100 miles combined city/highway, so far I like them OK. Seem quieter than my Duratracs (but that could just be my old TJ vs. my new JK.) It was hot and dry today, so no adverse weather to compare them with anything else. Seem a bit hard...felt every bump on the highway. Definitely not as soft as Cooper Zeon LTZs I had on my Dodge quad cab. Time will tell.
