2 inch lift or 4 inch?

Want a lift but don't know how big, is 4 inches too tall? Or will it impact the way my jeep rides?

It depends on how much you want to spend. To do it right it is about $1000 per inch. So there is a big difference is price.

The question should really be "can I afford a 4" lift?" When going that tall will you be able to afford everything that comes with it, like new driveshafts, new brake lines, track bars, sway bar links, ball joints and so on and so on and so on.
Second question should be "why do I need a lift?" Are you taking it to Moab, the Rubicon trail, mudding, why do you need to lift it. If its for looks, then put a 6" lift, 40" tires and get a step stool, you will never flex it enough to break anything if it stays on the street, but you run over enough speed bumps, eventually something will break.
If you can afford it, I would recommend a MetalCloak lift and some Tom Woods driveshafts, some 37" tires on 17" wheels. Good luck making a decision.

A question that has been asked many times. There are threads going on right now about lift size, wheel/tire size etc. You should start off the conversation giving more information. What are you planning on doing with your Jeep is really the first question as ferninAZ mentioned above. Then people can help you more. I have a stock JKU COD edition, 2012. Pretty much loaded, but it is my daily driver and will be used rarely off road. I would love to have a 4" lift and 37's and could probably afford to do it, but it is practical for a DD? I realized it wasn't so am going with a 2.5" AEV lift with the extra brackets and 35's while keeping my stock (black) rims. I think that is going to work for me and the price should work as well. I could probably go with MetalCloak or TeraFlex lift, but from what I heard AEV is great as a daily driver and if you want the lift more for looks and less off road. If I was going off road more I probably would have went for one of the others.

Good luck!
