pink tj build (not for myself)

So my sister bought a jeep. A very clean tj. Lots of chrome on it. Not really my style but she bought it with the mind to make it a barbie jeep. Nice bright pink, but with balls so it can still off road with the rest of em and my jeep. So to start, I removed all the chrome. Except I haven't gotten to the hood pieces yet. She bought all new black accessories. New mirrors, gas cover, hood pieces, hood clamps, and ditched the chrome grill, steps and light bar. And the bumpers will be going to powder coat to be re done black. It came with a two inch body lift on 33x12.5 tires on a 15 rim. The rims are fine and tires are new so they will due for now, but the body lift is coming off and getting replaced with a 4 inch long travel lift

The jeep should be coming back from the wrap shop today. Thank god she got it wrapped and not painted so that when I get this jeep I can remove the pink. Anyways, im gunna install all the new accessories and pull the bumpers to go to powder coat tomorrow.

This is what the first wrap looked like. Apparently the material was wrong so it had to be re done. But this is just a general idea of it.

Lol. Good job bro

thor656 06-04-2013 08:32 PM

Exactly. Its about the jeep. Not my sister. Imma keep it that way.

yellowfin61 06-04-2013 08:50 PM

Have to make sure my daughter doesn't seen this post. She would love the pink wrap.

thor656 06-04-2013 09:03 PM

A wrap is not a bad way to go though because it can be removed. It can help preserve the original color. This is gunna be a bad ass pink jeep too. Not a city jeep at all.

Ebxgsxr 06-04-2013 10:19 PM

i'm curious to see the finished product.

O_M_Jeep 06-04-2013 10:28 PM

I really like the idea of a pink Jeep with all black armor and accents, how much was the wrap and did you put it on yourself?

thor656 06-04-2013 10:29 PM

I will put up pics as I go. And the wrap was 1400. And it was done by someone else. Im doing all the accessories and the lift kit.

04Xtj 06-04-2013 10:45 PM

haha..its cool man..nice of her to stand there so you can get pics of your jeep..(oops..hers)..
we will still wheel with you and your new wrapped jeep..

haha..kidding..nice tho.ive seen the mossy oak one before..they are cool looking..
it will come off with no effect to paint after 5 or more years?..
seems like it would shrink and pull the paint..
hope she enjoys it..and you too..:p

thor656 06-04-2013 11:01 PM

Lol its all good. Two jeeps is better than one. Even if one is pink. And its cool to build a jeep on someone elses tab. Im not sure what the effects are after a long period of time. It probably varies with different environments. Either way. Not my money being spent on it. Im just putting some wrench time on it.

thor656 06-05-2013 05:45 PM

Picking up the jeep in a few hours from the wrap shop. Up next is powder coat. Pictures later.

The first owner did use it as a jeep. But the second owners did not. They kept it very clean. Real nice to start with for sure.
