OK this is driving me crazy. My drivers side brake light does not work. (89 YJ 4.2l) The running lights, turn signal and even the hazard lights work but no brake light. I have replaced the brake light switch on the pedal and that did not fix it. In fact when I replaced that switch, the drivers side worked but the then the passenger side when out, I rolled the connector and it went back to the drivers side going out. I have read a couple posts about it possibly being in the hazard light switch but don't want to go through tearing all of that out without a little more direction. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help!

Hello. I just recently bought a 98' Jeep Wrangler and the backup lights do not work. My drivers side brake light is also out and my drivers side blinker blinks very fast. I found a bad bulbs for all three and replaced them but that didnt fix the problem. Any suggestions?

It could be a ground issue. Try to run a separate ground and see if that solves the problem.

Have you tried wiggling your turn signal lever while you apply the brakes? If the lever is not going back into the off neutral position it will not connect back to the brake light circuit. All other lights will work proper though. Sense you say the turn and 4ways work on that side my bet would be on turn signal switch, 4way switch would keep either brake light from working.
