JK Hard top leaking

It's been pouring down the last few days today especially. While driving to my buddies house I noticed water dripping down the pillar on drivers side that's between windshield and driver door. It was coming from a spot just below those two bolts near the windshield. I know I might be over reacting my only issue it's brand new only 750 miles on it. Is this a normal thing? Or should I go to the dealer and have them fix it. Cause now I'm thinking first the recall for the the transmission line rubbing now this. Hope I didn't make a mistake on this purchase it is my first jeep and I love it. Just tell me this is normal and I'm over reacting.

Hey man I have a soft top 09 wrangler X and had the same issue. They sell affordable weather proofing kits on mopar and jeep accessory websites. You did not make a mistake, that jeep will last you forever!

Take the panels off and put them back on first. It wouldn't surprise me if someone half ass put them back on when they test drove it, and the seals aren't seated. I have the panels on and off all the time on my 2012, and never any leaks. I don't even leave the threaded hand bolts in most of the time.

Thanks a lot guys appreciate the help. I've heard they are great vehicles I love to drive this thing. I will def check the panels when I get home in the morning. If they still leak some I will have the dealer check it out. Thanks again!!!

Here is a book Chrysler put out about the leaking tops, in case the dealer gives you the run around, you give him this, http://www.jeep-club.net/graphics/ma..._Leaks_All.pdf. This is a couple of years old, so there maybe more tech bulletins out there by now.

More often than not just pulling off the two front panels and then properly resetting them will stop those little leaks. Check for any debris on the rubber seals when you R&R the panels. I usually have to wiggle them a bit when re-attaching to make sure they're seated all the way.

Thanks a lot Bmanz and BBTJ for the info. I saved that link to a PDF file thanks again. BTW I did take the panels off and reinstalled em. Hopefully that'll do it. I did notice that the side that has the small leak does have slightly more of a gap between the panels and the top of the door. Then the passenger side. I think that's where the leak is coming from on driver side. I think it might need a thicker weatherstrip or gasket.

I would carry it back to the dealer. With only 750 miles on it, it should be under warranty.

Mine leaks from the exact same place!! When I open the door I can see the water dripping out of the metal looking rivets in the rubber door seal

The two holes you see in the rubber is what I'm talking about

You too huh, it sucks man it's only a little bit if water but it still sucks. When I take it in for the recall I'm gonna have them address the leak also. I think it's just the gasket or weatherstripping that's bad. Hopefully it'll be a simple fix. You taking yours in?

Taking her in tomorrow to get that little leak fixed. I tried reinstalling the panels. It still leaks. Read through that leak repair manual and have a good idea where it's coming from. So tomorrow I'll know what im talking about. Hopefully it'll get taken care of tomorrow.

I have a '13 JK hardtop and the same thing happened at the car wash this weekend. Same exact place.

I recently bought a 07 JK. It leaks in the same spot too

Just had my 2011 crd jku in for every seal in the roof to be changes due to leaks! But guess what? It still leaks! The problem is that the monkeys at the dealership just aren't thorough enough when installing the new seals and if its not done correctly, which i can see mine aren't then its just going to jeep leaking! Problem is the mechanics at the dealerships just couldn't give to stuffs about doing quality work anymore, and when the service manager says there's your next job go and put new seals in that jeep half the time they haven't even got a clue how to do it!

Damn... Well it's dropped off. The special "LEAK Guy" has gotta look at it. It's gonna be an all day ordeal. Leak guy has to do a leak test should be done by end of day. So I gotta leave her :-(. Getting shuttled back home. Fingers crossed...
