Sunrider Top Bracket

1 Attachment(s)
Using my Sunrider for the first time and when putting it back up, it look like the bar is sticking up into the fabric of the roof. This is what it looks like (attached). Did I put it back up wrong? People talk about the plastic bar sliding (over the joint?) but mine can't because there are screws in the way. Don't want to puncture the fabric.

Thanks

Yeah, looks like a replacement screw. Head needs to be flush, then sleeve will slide over knuckle. Until you you do that, put something between knuckle and top to protect fabric like a folded up rag. Good luck!

Thanks for spotting that! Even though it is cold tonight, I managed to unclip it and put a small rag to protect the fabric on each side. Now, where do I get these headless screws??

Looks like everyone improvises these OEM Sunrider parts. I think I may try to just take the head off the screws and wrap the bar with electrical tape.

Like the above says that's the wrong screw. I would not worry about damageing the fabric. My homemade sunrider hinge does not have a tube to go over it and the joint like yours otherwise is in a Z shape. Mine has not damaged anything

Neil - good to know it has not damaged your fabric! I will figure something out.

Maybe find a roll pin that fits tight?..wouldn't require any threads then, just force it in, should hold up pretty good.
