sprkplg08 06-10-2013 11:36 PM

should be pretty crowded up there this weekend. IE4w is having their Forest Fest this weekend https://www.facebook.com/IE4WBBFF should be a good time.

werompx3 06-10-2013 11:53 PM

Right on hope to see u out there

Idriveoverstuff 06-11-2013 06:50 AM

Yea good luck, the trail guides straight up make you pull over and let 20-30 rigs pass you... They aren't that friendly, according to them " these people paid to be here. " just saying. The mountain will be packed

werompx3 06-11-2013 12:50 PM

That's ok I can be unfriendly it the mood arises

JoeBot13 06-12-2013 08:34 AM

Yeah heartbreak is one of the trails that they will be doing at the Forest Fest. I was looking to try some trails I've never been on before further down the 38 to avoid the crowd this weekend.

werompx3 06-12-2013 09:21 AM

Sounds good joe ill have sean confirm if were going to join but Im good for any trail thx joe hope to see you sat.

JoeBot13 06-12-2013 01:55 PM

Cool just let me know if you want to hit the same trails ... I've put it out there but between father's day and forest fest ... seems like most people are tied up

werompx3 06-12-2013 02:18 PM

Are you still doing bean flats

JoeBot13 06-12-2013 06:33 PM

yup ... thats the plan right now at least ... i can meet y'all at cafe 247 @ 0900 since I'm coming through lucerne valley anyways

Try and be courteous guys. Most of those trails out there are pretty much single lane, so trails will and can get backed up. Be patient...everyone is out there for a good time. I would rather be stuck on a trail all day than be sitting at work behind a desk.

Also, consider the trail guide's position. If he/she is leading a group of 20-30 jeeps and they come up on a group of 2 or 3 rigs...it is a lot easier to ask a group of 2 or 3 to pull over, than to get a train of 20 or 30 out of the way for a few.

JoeBot13 06-12-2013 06:44 PM

That's why I was looking at hitting Bean Flat ... Completely out of the way of the forest fest

I think it's capped at 200 jeeps, lets remember this event is a fund raiser to help keep BB trails open for all to enjoy
I look forward to attend BBFF this year.

JoeBot13 06-12-2013 08:03 PM

I wanted to go to Forest Fest but it was too far out to know for sure if I had this weekend free ... by the time I did know for sure registration was closed

Smokinjoe 06-12-2013 08:11 PM

Sometime you just have to sign up early so you have a decision go or no go.

I personally try to avoid these kinds of functions where there are far too many people and vehicles. I much prefer the quiet less stressful runs.

Sometimes you just have to give it up and watch the fun.

We will be tied up in forest fest this weekend. I love watching all the jeeps.

Joe let's plan that night run you mentioned the other day. There isn't anybody out there at night

That's why I buy a registration or two to these events and give them away to people that might not get a chance to go....this way I do my part to donate and maybe recruit some new people for next time...
Remember the cause..

Thx Steve U R a giver to the cause...

Personally I love these events it's a cool jeep show lots of vendors plus get in a run or two and huge raffle, Nice

JPi1 06-12-2013 10:52 PM

Thanks Smokin joe and Steve! I will never miss this event as long as I can walk and own a four wheel drive. It is very well organized, the tri tip and chicken BBQ dinner is so good, and the raffle is a sure win for everyone. Vendor row is always fun and informative, there are lots of activities just for the kids, and the night social part is priceless. Do we all like to do John Bull with 25 jeeps? No, but as joe said, the cause is for the blue ribbon coalition to keep our trails open. What could be better. And you can check out what guys are doing to their jeeps, what works, and what doesn't.
Don't be a hater till you try it one year, you'll be hooked.

Oh I'm not against it at all. If you arent signed up though, I definitely couldnt argue avoiding it. Thats a lot of guys on the trail to end up in the middle of. I am all for supporting the ones working to keep our trails open :thumb:

This is the reason I mentioned being courteous if you get stuck on a trail that participants are running . There is nothing worse than having to deal with "that guy"

Have a great run this weekend everyone (regardless of where you are at). I hope to see lots of pictures

Sounds good, Buck. My little guy has BMX State races over the next couple of weekends but after that I'm pretty open. I'll get with Rich and hit you up and we'll put something together. I need to hit the rocks in a bad way...been too long.

werompx3 06-13-2013 12:43 AM

Sounds good joe can't wait to meet you all on sat.

werompx3 06-13-2013 03:00 AM

I would just like to say I apologize for my comment on my earlier thread by all means I'm not out to start any trouble nor should any trouble be lingering or bad attitude be present were all out to have a good time I feel all bad attitudes should be left at the gate keeper we should all focus on having a blast that's what wheelin is about at least that's what I was taught any who I feel mutual respect on the trail is key to any size of your group thx for everyones heads up I do appreciate it hope to see u on the trail keep the rubber side down............

I think these rallies are great and serve a great cause, I just like to stay away from the large crowds these days. I don't like to go to Costco at noon either. :)

Costco at noon Dave? No way, too long of a wait for food samples!
