rubicon back seats

Why would Jeep make a four door car that you can't sit in the back seat it is so uncomfortable. I would not have bought this new 2013 if i had sit in the back. Does anyone know how to make them tilt back ?

There are a few posts that talk about people putting washers under the brackets to lift it up a bit. Also, I think metal cloak may make a plate or something to help out with it.

I got the 2 door and the rear seats on them are ok. Don't know how different are from the Unlimited models

Making anyone sit in the backseat of any Wrangler for more than a few minutes is cruel and unusual punishment.

you can put a 1/2" space in-between wear the back of the seat bolts up and were they bolt to the floor on the front side of the seat. this helps alot but they still are not great.

This is a hold over from the CJ design. Just about all that is left of a real jeep!

I've got about 3/4" spacers in the front and had to add some washers to the back to mke it work.

What's up with the middle of the back seat????

So you bought a jeep and didn't even try it out first , that's thinking ahead

So now you are complaining about the rear seats but you didn't say what was wrong with them and also why are you sitting in the rear anyways

Yeah, wrangler feels incomplete. Echoing what was mentioned earlier, metal cloak males a plate that fits underneath to add support

Not to hijack the thread but i think it would be nice if someone made a bracket that allowed you to slide the seat back a few inches.

I rode in the back of a sahara 4dr for a trip that was 2.5 hours each way and I thought it was comfortable.

BIOHAZARDCYCLES 06-17-2013 12:42 PM

Yeah i have 2 kids so i was planning on swapping the rear seat for 2 buckets with 5 point harness lol

J33P4M3 06-17-2013 12:43 PM

no complaints from my passengers about the back seat in my 10a.

My kids complained about the backseat of my 08 jku on long trips. My now older teenage children were happy to hear that I was getting a new family truck....until I drove home my 13 jku. Ha!

Yeah, the rear bench is too upright and too short. There is a mod for tilting it back just a hair, which would help. The center seat has no support underneath of it, some people simply use a flat piece of wood to brace it.

what brackets did you use for them?

Luck881 06-17-2013 02:49 PM

just reading this out of curiosity...

there's actually a center seat in the unlimited? I didn't think it was that much wider than a 2-dr or TJ back seat.

SnowboarderOx 06-17-2013 03:21 PM

Yep, it is a 60 - 40 bench with room for 3. I should say room for "3".

My kids fit. Good enough.

dalearyous 06-17-2013 03:30 PM

i didn't buy it to sit in the back seat ...

all seriousness i think it depends on what you are used to. i was actually a bit surprised as i was expecting much worse. its pretty rigid and upright but its not horrible, just forces good posture. sitting in the back of a 2 door is pretty painful with limited leg room. 4 door much better.
