New ball joint after 5,000 miles?!?
Long story short, I took my 2013 jeep JKU in for an alignment and was told my upper left ball joint is bad and it's off camber. Guy said he can't fix it and it needs a new adjustable ball joint. Should a 3" lift and 35" tires destroy my ball joints that quickly?!?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Probably not but not completely surprising either. Stock ball joints are crap. I put Synergy ball joints on at 10k miles just to stay ahead and the stock ball joints were still fine and I have 37's Somewhat depends on how hard you wheel it and maybe one of the ball joints was defective from the factory. Probably be a hard warranty claim with 35's on there now.

I have 120K with the stock ball joints and within the last year starting adding 33s, 35s, and 37s. Getting ready to change them soon... but I would think they would last longer than that?

Someone can back me up, but to check and see if you need ball joints you want to

1. lift the tire off the ground
2.put one hand at the 12'oclock and the other hand at the 6'oclock
3.try shaking the tire with both hands in this position
4. if the tire moves easily, then its time for new ones.

I think that's the method for checking on new BJs, but not 100 percent

I would guess you got a bad batch too for I'm still using my stock ball joint and I have roughly 75k. Probably go with Synergy or Spicer when the time comes.

Buddy has 12 JKU on 35's that needs new ball joints already. I actually saw how bad they were.. its a possibility.

Hmmm sounds like warranty work! Unless your running 37's lol

The dealership said "it should be under warranty unless they tell me otherwise." LoL I guess that's better than "pack sand, it's your problem now." I'll see if the stars align for me
