New tj owner with 6" lift and 36" tires.

Hey guys, I had a quick question can having 36" tires with a 6" lift cause DW? The guy I bought it from said as long as you kept the PSI low like 15 then it can go hwy speeds (65-70) without any problems. Is this true or is it an issue with a different part?

Wow. You have a lot of reading to do. Just do a search on Death Wobble.

That's a serious lift with serious tires. If it was done right, DW wouldn't be a problem.

My guess is somethings worn, broken or installed wrong.

it doesn't matter how tall your lift or tires are, if you have to adjust tire pressure to get rid of death wobble then something is wrong. either that or you and the p o don't know what death wobble is and you are using the wrong term.

Sounds a little bit too much for a DD. My .02

My bet is the lift was done wrong. Do you still have the stock track bar? If so you need an adjustable track bar with that combo. Have you checked the track bar bushing? Have you checked the alignment. Oversized tires require non stock alignment. Read the sticky http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/death-wobble-25090.html I just cured mine. Also do you know what rear end you have? If it is the d33 you are askng for failure. Do you know if your tires are in balance? That will kick off death wobble if something is worn or out of alignment.
