Pics of moab wheels and 32's please

I have a stock 03 tj on 30x9.5. I can't decide weather to go for 32 or 33 inch tires. But I do want a set of Moab wheels. Pics of tjs on 32 and 33s and moabs would be much appreciated. Thanks.

What lift is on the Sahara?

03ShaleGreenSahara 06-12-2013 09:20 PM

It's a 2" BB.

Here is my 04 Rubicon with 265/75-16's (32's) and a 2" spring lift.

Without bump stop extensions in the front I got major rubbing with the sway-bar disconnected.

I have the Ravine Rims 15x8 and went with 33x10.5 because the 33x12.5 don't fit the 32x11.5 barley fit and they had to use sticky weights to balance the tires because the tire was SO tight against the rim edge they could not fit the rim weights.

Really? That's the first time I've heard of this issue. Do you know if I will run into this problem with the moabs? I don't know how thick they are, but I see many jeeps on the forum running 33x 11.5 at least.

03ShaleGreenSahara 06-13-2013 08:51 PM

I just had my tires and wheels balanced. They used standard weights on the wheels.

There were no problems with my Moab's running 305/70r16s. Which are close to 12x33.

What are the lift specs for that 03? Great looking TJ!

It's a 2" bb and 1.25 bl. There's also 1.25" wheel spacers. I ran without the wheel spacers for awhile but it rubbed pretty hard when turned tight. Now i've run some trails as hard as black diamond and seems to do fine. Someday I'll get a spring lift though.

Thanks! Looking to do something just like that with my Sahara.

If you don't mind me asking. Are those the original rims for that Rubicon? They look awesome!

chevymad 06-19-2013 08:29 PM

Yes, those are the original Moab wheels.

I have 32x11.5 on my canyons and am happy with the fit. There is one inch between tire and spring perch on each side

32x11.5 should work well w the moabs
