Liquid Metal Gatlins vs Mamba m13

I'm going to pull the trigger tomorrow. Need help deciding though.

Originally I was going to get the Mamba m13's but it hasn't his the market yet so I am worried about how they look in person.

I already ordered 285/70/17 tires. This will be on a stock JKUS replacing wheels/tires. No lift. Not planning to lift for a while.

Mamba m13
17x9
4.5" backspace

(This is supposedly a mate according to manufacturer color and the gloss is just a mockup)

It isn't available until 6/28/13

Liquid Metal Gatlin:
17x9
-10mm offset (4.6" backspace?)

If I don't want to wait I might get these... but...

How come black tires in photos sometimes look like... a gray vs black?

I'm really not wanting a gray shade. For example:

looks gray.

looks black.

looks like a very dark green-gray-black.

Am I color blind or is it bad quality wheels or just how all matte black wheels look?

And something to easily dismiss the Gatlin. It's 4.6" BS or -10mm offset since that's .10 more than 4.5" will it be an issue on stock especially with the DuraTrac 285/70/17? I was told that the Mamba 4.5" + 285/70/17's will be fine but dunno if i have any more room.

Are the Gatlins Teflon coated? If they are, that would be why they look gray.

It's basically black...

Get the Mamba's though - I don't want these to be too popular. :)

Hahaha, I like the Gatlin's more, I'm just worried about the -10mm offset (4.6" backspace) vs the recommended 4.5" on stock with 285/70/70 - would there be issue?

No sure what sort of issue you think you'd see. Granted, I added 1.5" wheel spacers to mine cause I wanted the more aggressive look.

4.5 is min recommended. You should be fine with 4.6 and of your not, spend the extra for wheel spacers if you really do prefer those wheels

It's so close to rubbing but just enough to clear. May shave down the bumper area in the front a little if it gets into issue. I'm worried about hitting a bump/pothole but that should just go up instead of forward right?

Congrats! If CA doesn't have weird laws about fitting the tire under the fender flare, you can get the Spidertrax 1.5" wheel spacers to kick them out a little bit. I'm running 37x13.50 and can do full turns without it rubbing. Even my stock rubi tires rubbed on the sway bars a little bit.

LOve those rims. Have been looking awhile for a new set. Where did you get them?

It's orange. I got them on ebay - search for Mustang lug nuts, same length and thread.
