Lockers would be awesome. Just one idea.

The Aussie locker is about the cheapest, and seems to hold up very well.

I could give you plenty of ideas, but ideas = $$$$$$$

After the lockers, I would at least get a highlift, so that you can get out, when you finally get stuck. Once you have saved up enough for a winch, then you will have nothing left, but to get bigger........lol :D

mrbigjeep 08-06-2006 11:30 PM

what kind of locker would you reccommend? any other ideas?

amerijeep 08-06-2006 11:47 PM

What top do you have?

mrbigjeep 08-06-2006 11:50 PM

i have a factory hardtop

mrbigjeep 08-06-2006 11:51 PM

and yeah i know for sure i will go bigger one day :D

amerijeep 08-06-2006 11:59 PM

Aw Man, get a soft top. You'll never want that hard top after having a softie. Being able to drop that thing back anytime you want is sweet. Then you can sell that hard top and you'll have even MORE money to out back into the Jeepie.

mrbigjeep 08-07-2006 12:03 AM

would it still be worth it to get it since the summer will be ending soon? when i had the top off i knew i needed a soft top so that the rain couldn't keep me from going out but i just never got around to it...that is what my buddy tells me to get

amerijeep 08-07-2006 12:05 AM

I really can't speak for a hard top in the winter because I have never had one. All I can say is I have never needed a hard top to stay warm in my Jeepie. It never gets very far below freezing here, and only for a short period of time.

I'm thinking a soft top is all you need for where you are.

mrbigjeep 08-07-2006 12:06 AM

yeah probably so...it never gets below freezing here where i live

amerijeep 08-07-2006 12:09 AM

I say get you a nice Bestop that you can use with your full doors. If you sell the hard top, I think they go pretty high. I'm thinking they sell for $800 to $1000, but I'm not positive. I really have only seen them in passing. I never shopped for one.

ok, thanks for the help

or if you're thinking of doing some wheelin', some skid plates would be a good investment: steering, radiator, gas, and rocker guards.
OR you could beef up your steering, like a beefier tie rod, steering stabilizer

IMHO Diff Guards would be the first thing I would put on my rig if I had to do it all over again. You can find them as cheap or expensive as you want. Mad4wd has a great deal going on Rockcrusher diff guards right now if you don't mind waiting a bit. Then other Armor I would say would be good. Or like I mentioned in another thread a tummer tucker belly pan.

mrbigjeep 08-07-2006 10:17 PM

ok...ill think about my options and see what would be best

Lockers would change your life forever.... atleast the jeep part of it.
