Just wondering about d35 with 373 . Should i build up my d35 or dump it. I don't go crazy. 4 wheeling but am done with my suspension and now moving on to my. Axals. Mine r not locked and have drum brakes. Any thoughts

I really don't think their worth much. You might be alright with it. Depends on tire size and use. I personally won't put any money into it. I'd look for dana 44 out a TJ/LJ that'll bolt right in.

I built me 35 ,with a Eaton also and have wheeled the crap out of it.So far so good.

If you are planning to say at or under 33" tires and are not planning on locking it, I see no reason to not keep the D35.

I do would like to lock it. I saw something about a c clip eliminator. And heard that's the week part of the d35. Prob gonna buy a new g2 d44 from quadratec for like 2200.

D35's get a bum rap there's a lot of them out there that are wheeled on a regular basis.
Due to your 3.73 gears I'm guessing your not running more than a 31 to 33" tire? A D35 will hold up fine with that size tire. Now if your planning on re-gearing, adding a locker, want rear disc or going to a 35 tire a 8.8 or 44 swap is always an option.

I have the D35 in mine. Was talking with Essentially Off Road (who builds some of the most bad ass Jeeps and Bouncers around) about doing a V8 conversion for me. I asked about my axels and they said unless I was going over 33's and planned on doing some pretty hardcore wheeling, doing a little upgrading on my existing axles would be fine. No need for a 44.

If you do decide that you want to run 35's or lock it, just pick up a D44 out of any TJ and that sucker will bolt right in. If you can weld and are willing to do some fab work, an 8.8 would be do-able as well.
