Ordered the Rugged Ridge wheels, now I need tire recommendations

I daily my Jeep and love the ride, I know with this new setup it'll be a bit more noisy but I can handle it. Any good tire recommendations for a 285 70 17?

My vote is for GY Durtracs. Great in snow and all terrain, low low noise on the road and great for DD.

Here's the combo with Teraflex leveling. (I run 315 DTs now on a newer Jeep) I love Duratracs

I have the Fierce Attitude MT's in that size and love them. Real aggressive looking but not noisy at all which I was shocked by. Price is awesome from DTD too so you have more money for other mods!

how did you black out all the silver components on the wheels? that's exactly what I'd like to achieve when I order mine (sames wheels and tires but in 35's)

I unscrewed each rim hex bolt and stuck them through cardboard to mask the threads and only expose the heads. Then I applied a couple of light coats of plain Rustoleum Satin spray over the bolts and plastic center caps. No peeling over two years/winters:

Here's some crappy pics - 315 Duratracs - 2.5 AEV lift. As soon as I got 33s, I regretted it - but love DTs. Note my 315 DT measure 33.7 actual on this rig at 28psi. I run AEV wheels now. I had no issues with the RR and 285s. But the 315s stuck out too much and threw a lot of road crap all the time. With the AEV wheels tuck more in and I get about 1/10 of the the crap sprayed up in the winter slop - which is toxic:

I bought the 285 70 17 Cooper Discoverers, cuz I was gonna buy bigger wheels, but then changed my mind and stayed with the stock size 16 wheel and tire. So, got 4 new tires in my garage that I need to sell.

Just a side note, but rugged ridge also makes rim protectors for those wheels. Look good and will also help protect the wheel from rock rash.

I run Hankooks on all my vehicles, I have the Dynapro ATs on my Pilot and they're very good. A friend runs them on his Grand Cherokee and they can handle snow and off road pretty well.

Another vote for the Good Year DT. Great overall tire.
