Cn you fix a bent rim?

So today I see that my passenger rear tire is low. When I inspect while airing up I see that I bent the edge of the rim last week when wheeling. Must have slid off a rock. It is leaking fast enough where it is not safe to drive at this point. Is there a way to bend the edge back into place, i.e. BFH, or is the rim toast? It is a steel rim. Any advise would be appreciated. Before anyone says that this is a good reason to get new rims, wife already said no due to $2500 just spent on new lift and SYE/CV shaft, but I did try.

Happened to me with a previous car.... My wheels were aluminum. Small bent due to a pothole... I took it to various wheel repair shops but the damage was too big to repair (small dent/slight cracks). I ended up using my oem setup that I still kept.

Depending on how and how bad its bent you can probably massage it back in to shape since its steel. I've repaired a few steel wheels with a brass hammer.

Since its a steel rim you actually have a chance of saving it but if its bad enough you'll need a new rim.
The best way to do it is get the tire off and use vice grips or something and get it so if you spin the tire and look at the lip you don't see any "wavyness" for a lack of a better word. Then get it remounted and balanced.

Thanks for the info. I will give it a try.

Whoops sorry... I read it too quick and didn't see "steel" until it was pointed out.

Any good shop should have the right steel wheel bend it's a Long steel bar and it has claps on the ends one bar has 4 ends for 4 sytle steel wheel lips. No more then 10-20'bucks per wheel.

Thanks! Are you talking like Discount tire shop or an auto repair shop?

I used to straighten my bent rims all the time with a hammer and 1 inch concrete chisel and a lot of patience. Depending on the damage it would take me about 20 minutes or less.
