Tube doors + 60mph = pizza levitation

Fortunately it came toward me and I caught it out of the air. Nothing to see here officer. :whistling:

donmeca2020 06-21-2013 09:15 PM

pics or it didn't happen...

brighton 06-21-2013 10:13 PM

Driving, grabbing the pizza box out of the air, and taking a pic, now that would be a feat.

some people have go cams installed into their vehicle. you never know...

i recall years back i was driving with a burrito in one hand, shifting into gear while talking on a cellphone all in the same time. some people can multi task :thumb:

It's time to add the pizza holder mod to the list...

fljeepleo 06-22-2013 03:53 AM

Was there a pizza in it? My weathertec floor mats levetate at about 70 with the doors off.

n00g7 06-22-2013 04:01 AM

My sister had this issue with the doors off... I told her to buckle it in, but of course she knew better (not).

Oh yea, or it wouldn't have freaked me out so bad. It didn't exactly rise up evenly, either. Unfortunately, I was all out of free hands to take a pic!

Beer4Shawn 06-22-2013 07:33 AM

was the pizza as thin as a floor mat :)

doufus1 06-22-2013 07:41 AM

Must have been a thin crust.

Of course... If it was Chicago style, I would have thrown it out myself. ;)

steve2010 06-22-2013 08:18 AM

True. Floor mats levitate at 50+ mph. Quadratec's rear mats get a GOOD 3-4 inches from the floor itself. I need to pass by a fabric store and get a big sheet of velcro to see if that can hold them down. A levitating pizza would make a nice sight though.

I'm a thin crust guy...invest in a motorcycle-type bungee net to keep your stuff from flying outta the Jeep at speed with the top/doors off.

Problem solved.

Many, Many, MANY years ago, my girlfriend at the time, was teaching me how to drive a standard. She had an old BMW 2002, one of her fathers retired race cars that he converted back to street legal (but still FAST!) for her. It's probably the second or third time I ever drove stick and she tells me to go through the McDonald's drive-thru, for "real-world" experience...besides, she was hungry . So here I am with a Big Mac in my left hand, a big-a$$ soda between my legs and the shifter in my right...I didn't stall it! :punk:

st1264 06-22-2013 09:45 AM

Switch to salads... better for your waistline and for more levitation

I hope they salted the roads extra nice this year and your rear end falls off when you try to catch me. :D

I could've stored fish with the amount of salt they laid on the roads this year. Behold...

I'm not one of those guys who hates on non-JKs. TJs rock, IMO. :thumb:

I think the girlfriend teaching a guy how to drive a stick is what did it. :D

I agree.

Tweak 06-22-2013 01:56 PM

when I had tube doors I had my Military ID come out of my chest pocket on the highway and levitate just over my dash before I managed to catch it

Had LJ, just a better TJ (half kidding). Built too far to an impractical level. Sold and bought JK (which I used to deny as even being a wrangler) and now I'll never go back :)

Anything wrangler rocks. It just takes getting used to the evolution (for me anyway).
