2 Bestop trektop NX questions

I know the sides and rear window are made to zip off easy on this top which leaves the bikini top on.

My first question.....if I want to take the bikini top off is it easy or how easy is it to fold it up and store it in the back or back seat of JK 2 door?

Next..... can someone point to several options on how to store the rear window and sides?

I really like this top but I want to be able to carry the whole top with me stored somehow if I have the complete top off.

I am aware of the OEM version soft top but would really like to make the Bestop work for me. Thanks in advance to any suggestions.

I guess you can take it off entirely, but storage would definitely be a problem due to the header and sunrider fold back bars.

Been trying to work this one out myself, I have an idea of fabricating a storage bag to hang from the back of the rear seat head rests. Just haven't found the time to do it yet. The problem with the side windows is they have a plastic form piece inside of it that can't be rolled or folded...and the part that slips into the door jamb is also reinforced with plastic and can't be folded either...so you can only roll it up so much and it won't be compact. :banghead:

As far as storing the windows in the Jeep I can't help, I've never tried it. I just keep an emergency tarp and some bungee cords just in case I'm parked somewhere in the middle of a storm.

For the bikini top, it has the "sunrider" feature so you can fold it back instead of removing the entire thing. If you do desire to remove the entire bikini, it's as easy as pulling the quick disconnects on the sunrider support bars. From there you'd just have to roll it up and put it in the back seat. However it is as wide as the Jeep itself, so you'll probably have to fold the seat forward and store it lengthwise.

So basically there isn't any good solutions out there for storing the sides?

So the top will fold up enough so it can be stored in the rear of the Jeep?

It'll be about a 16-18" x the width of the Jeep, so it's definitely going to take up some space. The problem with folding it up is you can only really roll it around itself, and the sunrider bars get in the way of making it compact, plus the header is already the width of the Jeep so you're forced to store it lengthwise. If you choose to take it off and throw it in the back you'll almost definitely have to tumble the seats forward, and even then it might be hanging over the tailgate.

Note that I am referring to a 2dr. I have no experience with the 4dr or it's respective top. I doubt you'll be able to store it anywhere in the Jeep securely, so if you plan on stopping somewhere where there may be some unsavory individuals it could quite easily be snagged out of the back in a moments notice while you aren't around.

Don't care about tumbling the seat but if the top still sticks out past the tailgate I might have to think about another top.

Wanted to bump this topic and ask trek top NX owners why can't the bikini top be stored behind the rear sit? The only inflexable part of the top is the sun rider bars and header.....correct? So why can't the fabric be folded neatly back and forth behind the rear sit, the header would also lay behind the rear seat. The sun rider bars that are connected form a U, so the open part of the U would face forward and fit between the roll bar and the sides of the Jeep? Hopefully this description makes sense. Would this work?
