I need lift advice!

Ok guys I need your expertise...I have a 4 door 2012 Sahara Unlimited (manual.) I put 285/70r17's on a year ago since it was the biggest I could go without needing a lift...but now I'm ready to be a big girl and put a lift on (and most likely move up to 35's) I do moderate off roading so obviously I do want something that's gonna improve capability there, something that has an aggressive look to it (maybe 3-4"?), but DOESN'T really take away the very smooth ride it already has (I'm sorry but it's my everyday vehicle) Since I'm going to be spending a big chunk on tires again my question is is it

1. Even possible to achieve all that or do u end up sacrificing one or the other, and
2. To stay in the $500-$1000 range and find what I'm looking for? Keep in mind that I understand the basics but this is my first lift :-)

Thanks for any help!

Most lifts actually improve the ride of your Jeep. A 4" lift would not adversely affect your on-road handling. It will handle differently, be taller, but still manageable. I understand, I over-built my Scrambler to the point that it was not comfortable as a daily driver. I am not going to go that far with my Wrangler. Check with others in the JK forum who have a lift similar to what you want for your rig and gather some ideas and experiences. That's what this forum is all about!
