Need help! Thanks for having me!!

Hey guys I'm new to this forum thing and I know that sucks for a lot of you because I'll be that new guy that ask the same questions that have been answered a thousand times! I will try my best and search the forums as best I can before asking.. Need all the help I can get. Not my first YJ but it will be my first to actually work on myself and I've got pretty big ideas and will probably need you guys to help me get there!

88 YJ in great shape.. Chevy 350 with 700r4 tranny with small lift and 33s is what I'm workin with.

I'd like to swap both axles with stronger ones Do a SOA with 4 or 6 inch leafs Wheels are still undecided but would like to run 40s or 42s!! Sorry for such a long post but thank you guys for having me and I can't wait to start taking in new knowledge that's gonna help with my YJ!

Welcome. I'm glad to help out.
BTW, here is a company that will rebuild an old Ford 8.8 axle to your specifications (they'll even set it up for SOA for you) and compared to what some people have spent on junkyard axles, I think this is VERY reasonable.
Complete Ford 8.8" Rear Axle Assembly Jeep YJ Ready to Bolt In Axle Swap
It's what I'll be going with for my rear axle. I am going to stay with the Dana 30 in the front and just put in some beefier parts as I regear it. The front axle doesn't get anywhere near as much torque as the rear does, and it's more important for it to be light than the rear (for most uses).

Mid 60's thru late 70's F-Series trucks and Broncos will have what you need, high pinion Dana 44. I have a Dana 44 from a F-100 for the front axle on my Jeep and it works very well. Came with drum brakes so I had to change that to disc and also had it narrowed 2 inches but that's not needed if your going to run full size front and rear. Originally it was 61.5" wide.

Thanks for all the help... The search begins!

Run the front til you break. The d30 is decent.
