How's your Topless Spring/Summer been so far?

Unfortunately, it's been rather crappy lately. Spring was nice, warm weather, low humidity.

Last few weeks, hot, 70-90% humidity (like walking through soup) and rain almost every day :banghead:

Wish I could get 80's every day with low humidity... I can take the heat, but the crazy humidity makes you sweat, sweat & sweat more. Very uncomfortable. Maybe I'm a pansy... living surrounded by the Great Lakes makes it humid as hell. Used to live in the country on a farm, was better. Now in the city, very little breeze. Just stagnant, moist air. Mosquito's are thriving.

It's pouring rain outside AGAIN, as I type this

Make me jealous with your gorgeous weather:

I wish I could, but our weather sounds just as crappy as yours :banghead: I just put on my Trektop NX last week & haven't even been able to take the windows out yet! If it hasn't been hot, humid & raining, then it's been too dang cold! Welcome to Michigan :surrender: ETA: I just noticed you're from MI, too, lol.

lexington01 06-28-2013 12:09 PM

I've only had my top down once. I'm using the Sunrider a lot though in between rain showers.

sfhock 06-28-2013 12:12 PM

I've also had the top down only once.. however the Sunrider (with or without rear window removed) has made the summer bearable. Let's get this crappy weather over with already!!

I am also a fellow Michigander (SE MI about 13 miles from the OH border). And I have had my top down probably around 20-30 times so far this year. I don't get cold very easy and pretty much wear shorts all year long, so if it's 45 degrees or warmer, the top comes down! :punk: :thumb::dance:

TOK 06-28-2013 12:29 PM

I've had the top down a lot, but we have only had a couple stretches of 3+ days without rain... That is the point where I feel its worthwhile to put the tube doors on and just throw a cover on overnight.

Dunkin_D 06-28-2013 12:32 PM

Sounds like the weather in Pittsburgh. I have had my top off a few times and the doors off only once. Weather forecast is showing a chance of rain for the next 7 days.

Syntackz 06-28-2013 12:40 PM

Southern Ontario here, same crappy weather. Rain and thunderstorm forecasts almost every day. The hottest point of some afternoons has been 100 Degrees(38 Celsius) on the thermostat in the Jeep. Haven't had the chance to really have the top down for a few days in a row since early spring.

The sunrider has come in handy though, its turned out to be a nice feature for getting some airflow and sunshine in the Jeep between rain storms. Helps out with the no air conditioning part.

I live in Windsor. I list Detroit as I have an address there where I buy all my Jeep parts :thumb: and save tons of cash. I'm also in Detroit a lot, was there and in Livonia on Wednesday. We have the same weather, I'm just a few miles from you... I can see the Ren Cen from my roof and heard Metallica play on Belle Isle from work, a couple weeks ago.

Weather has been really crappy, for lack of a better word. I don't mind the heat, but the humidity has been outrageous.

MudRunner 06-28-2013 12:53 PM

Its been raining here on and off for weeks. Wish it would just stop....

JH17 06-28-2013 12:58 PM

Hot in ks but can't complain. Rains about once a week, then clear for days at a time. Tops off 90% of the time! This is my first summer with my first jeep and I will NEVER go back to a car or truck! Way to much fun with the top down! I'm hooked!

heinzbean 06-28-2013 01:38 PM

I imported(from US) a best top trektop months ago still haven't had a nice day to install it CRAPPY UK WEATHER

Ah, ok....can I ask where you get your parts from? I've been trying to find a decent local shop. I'm about an hour north of Detroit & once again, it's raining/storming as I type this

Weather here has sucked it either rains every other day or all week so ive only had the top an doors off for one weekend :( hoping it improves goin into summer

Bayouwolf 06-28-2013 02:12 PM

Yesterday it got to a scorching 80 degrees with 60% humidity...and it hasn't rained once since I moved here 2 months ago. And the forecast isn't changing much in the next few weeks.

Coming from Southern Ontario (Mississauga, to be exact) this place is what dreams are made of.

HOOCBB 06-28-2013 04:19 PM

104 today with ~25% humidity. I've been running with the doors off and top down for most of the last 3 weeks. I had to button up for a couple days of rain, but promptly stripped back down. Yesterday and today I have left the top up, but windows out (doors still off) so I have shade in the 100+ deg heat. The high on Monday is rumored to only be about 92...if so, the top will be back down.

I really need a bikini top or a spiderwebshade.

wassup8687 06-28-2013 04:33 PM

It's been rainy here in Central NY also. We've had some really nice sunny days and then the rain is back in a day or 2. :(

Mindlesschunk 06-28-2013 04:42 PM

It randomly rains here in missouri so I find myself leaving my too up most of the time.. I think it's a Hassle taking it up and down all the time, plus I'm terrified of being caught on the road in a storm with no top haha

redbilly 06-28-2013 04:46 PM

I have only a handful of days with the top and doors off. It has been very wet here in Indiana... but that does mean lots of mud!!!

DF Jeep 06-28-2013 04:51 PM

Had the top down most of May and the doors off longer than normal. Mornings and nights were cool. But June...not so much. Way to much rain. :(

TRAUMAhead 06-28-2013 05:24 PM

Been doorless/safari mode since March, save for a few days with rain/wind/going out of town. Now I'm getting beat on with 100+* weather till probably August. My sandal tan is pretty bad, lol.

I hear ya dude I'm in London. Where abouts are you from? I use the Sunrider a couple times a week but that's it!

Ponderosa 06-28-2013 06:29 PM

I haven't dropped the top since April. It has been too hot for that though I do see a few tougher than I who are doing it. Today is about 120 degrees! The top is going to have to wait until October or to when I get up in the high country.

happyjeep 06-28-2013 06:43 PM

It had been really nice here in central valley cal. Have doors and top off with spider web shade on. Its 103 now and for the next several days.

Had the Spiderweb Shade last year, 100F+* cuts straight through the shade for me. Much better with a Trektop NX in safari mode.

From another thread, I mentioned that my bikini blew off on the free way. I went topless for a while and it wasn't that bad pre-100s, but we were more than 110 today -- thank god I have this make-shift trap hanging on.... really makes it pleasant, if you can believe that, with the doors off (think it was 112 today - certainly not that 116 they predicted). I think some people just get acclimated.
