Battery terminal nut / thread size

Any of you that snoop around under your hood have no doubt noticed that there is a "naked" post on the negative battery terminal. Well, this looks like a gee golly swell place to hook up my auxiliary lights, except there is one problem - NO NUT! Any one know what size threads it is? Of the ass-load of nuts in my tool-box, none fit properly. Thanks a bunch! :thumb:

sorry don't remember the size but I had the same and just ended up taking one of the nuts off the positive side into ACE and just got one that way.

I looked around on the etherwebs a bit and the only thing I could come up with was an M6x1. Does that sound correct? Although the thread looked too course. Thanks!

M6 is a 6mm 1" long.

Anybody? I finally got my lights installed but can't hook them up...

These M6 nuts are what I used on mine.

I measured with a caliper and its 6mm. And accidentally touched both ends of the battery with the caliper

Just hooked up a remote switch for my lights today and used a 10mm OD fine thread nut I had lying around.

you have 2 other nuts that will work just fine

yes, there is a joke in there somewhere but I am referring to the 2 nuts on the battery terminal!

10mm is the socket size you use to tighten the nut (as you stated in "OD"), but the bolt coming out of the terminal is 6mm in diameter. Just saying because socket size for nuts does not usually correlate to bolt size, it does most of the time, but apparently chrysler defies measuring rules sometimes.
