If they've addressed the issues with QC...THIS is the kit I want.

Subscribed.

dawhitesJKU 07-02-2013 05:25 PM

purchased. still pending delivery. 4wp said anytime now. everything is in besides the shocks.

betts springs make re springs...pretty reputable, oh and those monotubes...their tuned bilstein 5100's.

they had issues with their bushings in the past but now their made polyurethane.

I was picking on a reps brain during my local 4wp event so i gathered as much information as i could.

The thing I've always liked about Rubicon Express is they publish their spring rates unlike the other suppliers.

You've ordered this exact kit dawhites? I would be interested in what you think post install.

Installing your self?

dawhitesJKU 07-02-2013 05:31 PM

yessir...i ordered the exact kit w/ monostein's lol. jks discos, exhaust spacer, and aev drop brackets (courtesy of kjeeper).

i'm having a shop install it since i'm a very busy person. i should have it done by next week, and i'll have a thorough write up on/off road. (i have a wheeling trip on the 14th)

Moonrider 07-02-2013 05:32 PM

My cousin installed this kit 2.5" Rubicon Express coil springs kit including monotube shocks. We both liked the quality and ride. The brackets that came adjusted axels also and they are perfectly. Very smooth ride.

dawhitesJKU 07-02-2013 05:58 PM

i NEVER considered RE and ended up initially purchasing a different brand. Talking to a RE rep changed all that. I even called RE over the phone and the tech guy answered all my questions i had. Warranty issues, sagging issues (if any), and transamerica purchase issue....just to get to know them from a consumer standpoint if any problems do arise God forbid.

i have yet to hear any complaints of the RE 2.5
No sagging of coils, great ride, and no more bushing issue. you also can't beat the "transferable" lifetime warranty.

ughs... i was at a local shop today since they were the only ones in the area that had the AEV geometry brackets. They told me $800! no thank you. The cheapest place i found is $400 to install the kit, discos, exhaust spacer, and correctional bracket. I'm checking them out tomorrow.

It looks like Quadratec sells this kit for $579 and others sell it for $699

Good find. I just realized this too and was coming back to post that up as well.

WashingtonJK66 07-06-2013 12:10 AM

I picked my RE mono tube kit up for 620 through 4wheelparts earlier this month, it was on discount. I waited a long time for shocks to arrive, gave up and 4wheelparts ordered me Billestine 5100s and cancelled the RE shocks. Getting installed on the 12th, along with 33x12.50x15 duratracs! I'll update my review afterwards with pictures.

I am looking at getting the re mono kit as well! What are the geometry kits for? Do I need those? Or can I just install the kit as is on my 2011 JKU?

You don't need em! I was sold due to kjeeper10's review on them. My local wheeling buddies all have lifts and when I look at their front arms, its not leveled. The jeep will think its lifted only an inch, when its really lifted about 3 inches. It's a trade off with clearance and drivability. For an extra 100, I just want to try em.

That's how much I paid for it. I purchased it on the 9th and received them yesterday. I guess they were selling like hotcakes.

Then expect a review from you, so I can decide on them! :)
