Screeching noise front driver's side front wheel when turning right
I was driving down a dirt road tonight and about half way along, I heard a metallic screeching/squealing sound coming from around the front, driver's side wheel. This was pretty loud when turning right and modestly loud when going straight. No noise at all when turning left or when stopped. I drove about 1 mile and it quieted down a good bit, then suddenly got very loud for about 100 feet, then stopped completely. By the time I got to a point where I could pull off, it was back to normal and upon inspection I couldn't see anything.

I definitely don't think I hit anything but I did go through some minor mud puddles (a 4 inches deep at the most). There was no hard bouncing or jarring. Do you think I just picked something up temporarily or is it something I should have checked out? This is a 2013 JKU Sport S with about 1300 mi, fyi.

Could be mud in/on the dust shield scoring the rotor periodically

You know my husband had the same problem too. We went mudding this past weekend, even rinsed everything off afterwards. (no noises during this time) The next day he went to drive it and he started to hear this loud screeching sound when he would hit the brakes or making a turn, but later that day it all stopped and hasnt heard the sound since. We are thinking maybe a rock fell into his rotor.

I'm having the same problem, posted about it last week. Dealer couldn't find anything wrong with it. Squeals under right turn straight line and moderate breaking. Started after an off road trip.

I have the TJ...wife has JK but I wheel with several people who have JKs. FWIW I have heard about this type of thing a lot on the JKs but have never experienced it on the JK or TJ. One guy did say that he thought poor design of the plastic piece behind the rotors was catching holding rocks dust mud and or Debris and this in turn made "noises" and scored his rotors...he eventually removed the plastic pieces.

Would think that Jeep would address that situation though as much as it seems to happen.

Had this prob with my back end so I decided to change the brakes. What caused my noise was the little metal "tabs" or "clips" that you slide the brake pads into the caliper on was bent. Might not make sense cause I cant really explain it but I'll try to find a pic.
But after I bent it back to how it should be I haven't had a problem yet
