oil pan gasket or no gasket?

Ready to install rear main seal. Should I spend 60$ for the oil pan gasket set or use a tube of gasket maker? Just rebuilt the differential and didnt use a gasket. Seems standard not to on the diff. Just not sure about the oil pan.

**** use a gasket sealer on the gasket where it says to. ****

Put the gasket on the block with the rtv, and tighten a few screws. MAKE SURE THE GASKET IS FULLY SEATED IN THE REAR MAIN BEARING CAP. Otherwise it will leak. Let it sit a day. Come back the next day, take the screws out, put some rtv where it says to on the oil pan, and paste that sucker on there.

*really important* make sure the block and oil pan are absolutely clean around the edge. Brake cleaner and a lot of scrubbing.

Wear latex gloves. Used engine oil is known to cause cancer.
