Why is this website so darn slow lately?

Every other website I visit the pages load super fast. This website is taking 15+ seconds to load a page or reload a page when I hit the "back" button.

Is it just me?

I'm using IE 10 but have tried firefox and chrome browsers as well. Same problem.

Atthehop 07-07-2013 07:37 AM

I appears fine for me, I have FiOS.

I also have FiOS.

cthusker 07-07-2013 07:51 AM

Comcast here and it's working fine.... about a second to load pages... :thumb:

yoopone 07-07-2013 08:22 AM

Running Safari and it is good on my 18mg Comcast as well as my puny T1 up at Cabin. Same as it always has been.

JJG1475 07-07-2013 09:13 AM

I am having the same problem but just joined so I figured is was just how it is, frustrating, sometimes doesn't load at all, may be my connection or the new laptop computer but don't have the same trouble on other websites.

Shoe 07-07-2013 09:25 AM

Slow for me too. I'm getting a "long running script" message at the bottom of the page sometimes.

Atthehop 07-07-2013 09:29 AM

If its slow you should test your Internet connection. So far mine is fine even on my iPad with wifi.

I use this link to test my connection.

Having same issue here to. IE 10. Connection is running just under 30Mbps.

I have ATT Uverse with download speed of 18mbps. I ran a speed test and it shows 17.87mbps. Every other website I go to works perfectly with no delays.

And like Shoe said above I have seen the "long running script" message a few times.

Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security errors.

I am wondering if it is all the ads on the page, I believe I chose the option to not run all the ads when I registered, but still a lot of running ads

NC Bear 07-07-2013 01:30 PM

I am getting the long running script and security certificate errors. Its almost bad enough to stay away until they get it fixed. jeepforum is also running stupid commercials and I quit going there totally.

huskersdave 07-07-2013 04:51 PM

I am getting the long running script error on my desktop too. No problems with my iPad or galaxy tablet.

I saw an add over their, it said " one Christian wants to bang you". I thought it was a funny screen capture that someone posted, but it wasn't! It was an add/ link to Christianmingle.com!

I was floored, I wish I had saved that.

I don't know what's going on but here at WF, my iPhone is working fine over Verizon wireless.

THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ all the time

gcan 07-08-2013 07:23 AM

I have the same slow and script error messages....can a moderator or someone with authority over this website step in and let us know something?

Neil F. 07-08-2013 07:49 AM

I'm getting the scrip error at home and work on my Gov system

Atthehop 07-08-2013 07:57 AM

I google long running script and it appears to be a computer issue not the website.

Big Sarge 07-08-2013 08:03 AM

Try using fire fox instead of internet explorer. A lot of these same issues here

Rubicondon53 07-08-2013 08:09 AM

One word,,,, Chrome

4Jeepn 07-08-2013 08:13 AM

From what we have been told its a script problem with some browers.. try chrome or firefox as those seem to have less issues... no eta on fixing it with IE.

McDaniel 07-08-2013 08:27 AM

I will renew my memebrship when the site works again. I get the script error all the time and it makes the site not a lot of fun to be on.

never had the problem before this recent issue.

05tjorange 07-08-2013 09:26 AM

I think it's IE 10, that's the problem.

HelenaAG 07-08-2013 09:38 AM

For those using IE 7-9, there have reports of script error in which we are escalating with Internet Explorer. Unfortunately we do not have an ETA for the fix so in the meantime you can try to access the site with another browser such as Chrome or FireFox.

05tjorange 07-08-2013 11:44 AM

I uninstalled IE10, went back to IE9, and that didn't help. I installed Google Chrome and it runs fine.

UnlimitedRubicon 07-08-2013 08:05 PM

I'm no longer having the script/lag problems. There have been no changes on my part. Back to business as usual.
