Lift kits??

I want to run 17" wheels with LT315/70/17 Mickey Thompson MTZ tires. What kind of lift will I need for this? Or will I just need spacers?

kjeeper10 07-07-2013 11:33 AM

Up to you Julio. How much money you want to spend?
You can run a 2.5" budget boost for clearance. This will be less expensive and you will avoid driveline/steering issues with higher lifts.

Here's Is a great option. Great shocks and won't empty your bank account.

how big of a difference is there between the shocks in the kit you posted, RS9000xl and the ones that come in this one, RS5000 Rancho RS66109BR5 - Rancho 2" Sport System with RS5000 Shocks for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited JK 4 Door - Quadratec

im curious because of the price difference.

The 9000's are adjustable.

Post more of these kits that are cheap and work for a 2 door. I wanted to lift mine 3"

kjeeper10 07-07-2013 04:01 PM

3" is pushing the limits with risk steering/driveline angles if not done correctly.

What do you recommend? Been looking at rancho and TF lift kits. I was looking into 2.5" with a 33 tire

kjeeper10 07-07-2013 04:46 PM

How about both?

Rancho 9000s because they're adjustable?

kev324 07-07-2013 07:08 PM

I'm waiting on my Teraflex 2.5 coil kit to arrive. I still haven't purchased shocks. I'm leaning toward the Rancho 9000XL shocks. If you have 2.5 or 3" of lift, which shocks do you order?

For 0 - 2" of lift they recommend: RS999326 (front) RS999328 (rear)

For 4" of lift, they recommend: RS999329 (front) RS999330 (rear)

But there is no in between. What if you have 2 - 4" of lift?

Call Rancho technical rep and they'll provide the correct PN's for your application and amount of lift..

The RS9000's are a great shock..

Love my 9000s! I change adjustments for normal driving vs towing my boat. Makes a huge diff. Waiting for my rediculously heavy Poison Spyder bumpers (and winch) to get back from powder coater to install. Guessing I will need to run a bit higher setting after.

You want 29xl front and 30xl rear for 2.5"

Thanks! This makes me feel better knowing that they will still fit if I ever swap out the 2.5" springs for 4" springs.
