Any reason why my 4.2 smokes now could it be timing or is it most likely the weber being out of adjustment?

Black smoke so I turned the dizzy and it turned a little blue and smelted strong.... It ran bad before the upgrade so we messed with the carb to try and compensate for it and I timed it by sound, when it ran smooth I called it good.... Runs great where I set it now just black smoke puffin out and especially when I hit the gas... Never did this before the dizzy upgrade

You r running rich. Black smoke is better than white smoke. A lil puff of black smoke won't hurt. But if it's a lot, I would try re set ur carb. If its bad an you leave it, your gas milage will b bad an you will foul plugs.
IMO, I would advance your timing just a lil bit more.

It's a constant puff of black... Not to dark but if you hit the gas it does get darker and of course more comes out until it cleans itself back out

Yea I would def say running too rich. My opinion, fine tune carb an ck ur timing again. Have you set your vacuum adv on ur dizzy? That will affect your air/fuel mix too.

Yea. Def have to set the vac adv. no as far as setting it, that takes a lil time. Kinda have to play with it to get it right. Took me a while to set mine.

Adjusted the air fuel mixture and it stopped the smoking
