Road trip to Colorado

Just got back last night from a week in CO. Did some wheeling outside Silverton/Ouray and a little more outside Breckenridge. Popped a sidewall on Radical Hill out of Montezuma. I already had a compromised sidewall on my spare so that meant new tires. So if I need 2 I might as well get 5. And if I am getting new tires what better time to get new wheels? Big thanks to 4 Wheel Parts guy Nick who helped me on the phone for over an hour on July 4th trying to get me what I liked, what would fit, and what was in stock for the next day. Then Big thanks to the 4 Wheel Parts guys in Denver for getting me in and on the road in less than 2 hours! A huge thanks to my wife for supporting my habit and telling me "I don't even want to know what it costs." when I went for new wheels/tires!

Hmmm. I set the photos to public. You must need a Flickr account to see them though. I tried linking the photos directly, but wrangler forum said they were too big.

I have a Flickr account and I was able to see them with no problem, so I think your guess is correct.

Beautiful pictures!!! :thumb:

This is really why I love Colorado..the outdoors, the mountains, and the hundreds of miles of trails and Jeep roads. Nice pictures....including the ones in Europe....love Europe. :)

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

It sucks living in Texas where there is no public land to wheel on. The only saving grace is I have an off-road park about 45 mins away. Otherwise the only time my Jeep would see dirt is during hunting season.

Fixed the video.

It was a trip to Colorado last year (in my...<gulp> Patriot) that made me decide to get a Wrangler. A week of camping at Lakeview campground in Twin Lakes, climbed 3 14ers (La Plata, Elbert and Massive) and ate fresh from the lake trout every night.

You guys who live there don't know how good you have it! Beautiful pics!

We do, believe me. Just went wheeling this afternoon on a spur of the moment what should we do today? did a quick trip up to the top of Geneva Creek ending just short of being on the Continental Divide a stop for dinner back at the house all within 5 hrs. Awesome!!

Oh trust me- I know how lucky I am. Before Colorado, I lived in Texas, Oklahoma, and then Kansas City. Only California and the Pac Northwest compares in scenery but no state compares with the accessibility to hundreds of miles of Jeep roads and mountain trails we have. I thank my stars every day...and have never driven south or east since I moved.
