Run the VIN #

1st87yj 07-10-2013 02:45 PM

So I ran the vin on 3 different sites. Sounds like the 87/88 wranglers did not have a specific trim model. Does this sound right?

I have a 87 Laredo

1st87yj 07-10-2013 02:59 PM

Whare does it say that?

JerseyDriver 07-10-2013 06:08 PM

They definitely had different trim levels. 88 had the Sahara for sure.

JerseyDriver 07-10-2013 06:11 PM

You might just have the base? SE or S?

Vin decoders online. Breakdown of all digits.

Would a pic of the dash setup help anyone or are they all the same?

It was a answer to this question. Yes they did have specific trim models. You'll just have to keep searching. Do you know anyone with access to Alldata? Very thorough VIN identification capabilities. I believe the Autozone website has that feature also and all the info is pulled from Alldata.

Positive. VIN says so, title matches VIN.

Send a note to Chrysler, I did and not only received a breakdown of everything it was equipped with new I also was told the ebrake recall had not been performed and to bring to my nearest dealer.

A lot of times a trip to the dealership can give you the info, particularly the parts department.

Usually if you sign in here and type in your VIN it can tell you everything about your Jeep, it worked with my 06 TJ at least

87 Florida YJ 07-12-2013 08:35 AM

I have an 87 (with an 8 as the sixth digit) which I thought was a 'base' model. After reading this thread I decided to check around. This site had the answer. Home : Free VIN Decoder - Vehicle Identification Number Check. Go know that I have been driving a 'sport' all this time lol
