I've got the 2.5 engine. I have inspection coming up, and I'm almost 100% sure I'll fail on emissions and have to get a new cat. I can hear it rattling when I drive and on start up, and it barely passed 2 years ago. I've seen people talk about high flow stuff to help this engine some with power. Are any worth it? Any recommendations? Also, the exhaust will need replacing too, any recommendations there? Thanks.

Check out Quadratec for a High-flow cat and a performance cat-back exhaust. You should find good prices.

I have seen online for

Yeah - a cat from advance or napa isn't that expensive, and neither is the exhaust, but if I'm going to have to replace - is the performance stuff really going to help at all? And if it does help - is it worth the extra money spent?

it will sound better, but you will not gain any HP

I put a glass pack on my 2.5 with a new cat and it gave the little 4 banger some life

Im thinkin of hackin my muffler off its got a big hole so you can hear the sputtering a little bit and hell mine prolly sounds bad a$$ anyways with it off:flipoff:

take off your cat. cut a hole on the top of it take everything out and weld it back up. There you go a High flow cat.

That's funny I like that High Flow Cat, but i don't think that it will sound the greatest. LOL
