New Member, But No Wrangler Just Yet

Just saying hello. I've been lurking on the site and finally joined last week.

I'm having a tough time making a choice and finding the right one.

I originally started to look at 04-06 Wranglers, 6 spd, full doors, unlimited, lower mileage ( under 80k). This will be a third or extra vehicle and strictly for fun. In fact it will probably replace my Harley. I don't need a rock crawler, I just like the way the Jeep tools around top down, doors off, slightly lifted, maybe a nice bumper and bigger tires. I have a good idea of what I want it to be and look like, just can't seem to find one yet. I will even consider automatics too. Prefer red or black, but will look at other colors too.

So far everything I have seen was pretty so/so average condition at best, but priced in the $16,500 to $18000 range. None of the online valuation guides come up with those numbers. What to pay, what to pay?

This seems sort of high when you can buy a new 2013 sport with a/c, manual, decent stereo for under $25000? Just add wheel tire set and a basic lift kit? I don't know. The new ones have a lot more power too. I might consider this more if it were to be my everyday driver, but that wasn't the plan for now.

Just a tough choice if I have to give up the Harley, I would like something nice to work with.

I haven't given up on the 04-06 yet. Maybe the selection in AZ is just overpriced? Where else should I be looking?

Suggestions are welcome. Disappointed in the search so far, but still hopeful.

Jeeps hold their value fairly well but I'd check Craig's list if I were you.

Thank you for the welcome and the search suggestions.

I have been using craigslist autotrader and cars.com.

I'll keep digging.
