Long Island NY

Anyone here wheel out in Long Island?

mikebigh 03-05-2009 12:57 PM

I used to go to channel 21, "the pit" , years ago before they built houses on it. My old Cj7 w/4" lift and mud terrains went right through the pond. Now, a friend has a house bordering the land that the big lab out east is on. To afraid to bring the yj out there though, if you get caught now they are taking vehicles. The island is over filled with people now, im moving up to the hills!!!!!!!

noctrnl 09-13-2011 07:09 AM

there must be somewhere besides the beach. Where on LI are you?

Razortag87 09-13-2011 08:35 AM

Massapequa. Me n my buddies have permit for Suffolk county beaches but it's kinda boring and everything else on long island is trespassing

Razortag87 09-13-2011 08:36 AM

I asked that dude trunz about his spot but he never replied to my pm

noctrnl 09-13-2011 09:31 PM

you're not that far from me, there is that car meet every friday and saturday night at dave and busters in farmingdale never see many jeeps though, just lifted rams and broncos climbing light posts lol. I just did my 4in lift today, still need to do some little things to finish it up.

Irongrave 09-13-2011 09:37 PM

its called Long Island Off Road. they are a very well respected club that has legal land to wheel on. that I know of there are no legal trails on long island to wheel.

Razortag87 09-15-2011 11:19 AM

I didn't know there were alot of 4x4s that go to Dave n busters maybe il start goin up there

noctrnl 09-15-2011 01:05 PM

make sure all your joints are tight

also its not the 80s any more pull the dual stabilizer off and take it for a spin see if that kills the DW. I dont know how many times I've taken off stabilizers and more often dual stabilizers and its made the DW go away.

Do you by any chance have a Mopar logo on the back of your Jeep?

Nothing to do with my stabilizers and everything is tight. 25k on everything and had it checked. Put the drop pitman arm in and track bar. Dw still there but not as bad. This jeep is giving me nothing but problems. Any of you guys local and want to take a look lol? My drive shafts are good and once over drive kicks in at 50+mph i get a resisting noise. pinion angles are good also. Shafts are balanced. Sye is installed. Shut over drive off its gone. Wtf.....
