What is this knob? Right above the t-case shifter on the console.

kuhl 07-12-2013 06:40 PM

I don't think that is something factory maybe someone can correct me but I don't have it in my tj,

do you have any subs in the car? Maybe it's. A subwoofer level knob.

Have you tried messing with it to see if it does anything?

JPi4.0 07-12-2013 06:45 PM

Sub level for sure

Atthehop 07-12-2013 06:57 PM

Not OEM.

Jerry Bransford 07-12-2013 06:59 PM

Seat eject, push it to verify.

Marcwakefield22 07-12-2013 07:00 PM

I don't think that's a bass remote. I had one in my Cherokee for my 15" kicker and there is no way the entire thing would fit on the inside of that cover. They aren't that small. At least none I have ever seen

XxHelmetxX 07-12-2013 07:04 PM

have you pulled the cover to see where it goes

blueskiesbill 07-12-2013 07:07 PM

Kinda looks like the sound ordinance bass level.

gbendezu 07-12-2013 07:10 PM

Bass/volume level

DermJeep 07-12-2013 07:10 PM

No subwoofer in the car, though previous owner was a professional pro audio guy. Pulled the shifter console and found nothing. Aftermarket stereo is a nice alpine unit, but nothing w/ preamp outputs or anything else for custom tuning.

This is only mystery #2 of a growing list... Though the rest of the problems have been fun to tackle. Poor guy also left be about $42 in spare change that I found under carpets and in seats.

bgall 07-12-2013 07:12 PM

At least you don't have the pile of abortion wiring I am almost done with on the 06 I bought. I swear that the previous owner will have a special place in hell filled with wire nuts, random colored wire, and butt connectors...

DermJeep 07-12-2013 07:13 PM

Oh, an I tried the ejector seat option to no avail. Thought maybe it was an afterburner level knob too, but as I watched the speedometer rise slowly after a stoplight, it became quickly apparent that I was wrong again.

UnlimitedRubicon 07-12-2013 07:19 PM

It's a fuel economy knob that is usually adjustable from 1 to 10. Yours is a Wrangler edition that only has a setting of 1.

Vinman 07-12-2013 08:45 PM

Maybe aftermarket intermittent wipes?

Marcwakefield22 07-12-2013 09:17 PM

Warp drive to a different dimension. Definitely that

Holton345 07-12-2013 09:46 PM

That usually controls your Reality Distortion Field generator. But it also could be to the blinker fluid monitor.

DermJeep 07-12-2013 09:54 PM

maybe the automatic Jeep wave actuator?

bamajeeper00 07-12-2013 10:52 PM

It's your neighbor's garage door opener.

Cape Fear Finn 07-12-2013 10:58 PM

It's there to make people ask questions.

SurfKaster 07-12-2013 11:01 PM

mood lighting

Neral22 07-12-2013 11:05 PM

Its to launch the North Korean nukes!!! Don't touch it!!! Actually as others have said it is a knob used to increase the amp output to drop the bass. The guy who sold it to you probably took out his amps and external subs prior to selling. Removing the knob would leave a hole that would not look as cool as a knob to teleport you to a new dimension :)

Hburgtea 07-13-2013 02:40 AM

That's for 2lo I'm sure.

ChaddG 07-13-2013 07:40 AM

it's the maglicipator valve retarder

Rubicondon53 07-13-2013 08:12 AM

I kinda like the warp drive idea, but that is exactly where I have mounted my A/C cut-off switch..

X2 looks like the remote gain adjuster from my Kenwood amp I used to own. If you have no system it's of no use to you.

ReconJack 07-13-2013 05:26 PM

Its the little black button....dont ever touch the little black button.

Westbrook 07-13-2013 05:33 PM

A Jeep hitting 88 is about as likely as a Deloreon doing so

Marcwakefield22 07-13-2013 06:14 PM

I've gotten mine to about 95

jeepinherndons 07-24-2013 07:33 PM
