Wrangler Remote Start

OK so this is my first wrangler and i would like to know if anyone has put a remote start on their wrangler. now i relies that wranglers are easyer to break into but is it any easier to steal my car if i have it running with remote start, or can they hack it and steal my car, id like to let it warm up the engine and cab but i don't want my car to be stolen. any help or opinions would be great. Thanks.

i have a remote start in my wrangler. if any one gets into the jeep when it is running if they step on the brake it kills the motor unless the key is in the ignition in the on position. i never use the dam thing cause it not that difficult for me to take the 15 steps to start it. also you need to step on the brake to release the transmission. (mine is an auto)

They won't install one in a manual. too many runaways.

I have one and it is great when it is single digits outside and you get as old as I am, plus the alarm makes it alot harder for people to mess with a soft top tj.

Ha I heard that too....I've never tried to install a remote start but it'd be nice to have one when its 15 degrees outside and I have to leave for work at 5am:zap: Anyone have any experience with putting one in on a manual jeep?

I have seen a manual transmission Jeep with remote start. You can't start it in gear. Tho if you live on a hill the only thing keeping it from rolling down hill would be the E brake. The remote start worked very well. You just had to turn off the jeep in a specific way. Out of gear, e brake engaged, turn off the engine, it would stay running tho the key was out, lock and shut the door, then hold the remote start button until it turns off the engine. If you so much as open the door, system resets and you can't remote start. All you do in the morning is point and press remote start button at the jeep and magic. it starts. It was dealer installed in Alaska, Jeep also had a block heater. Might be a little hassle for some!?

I have put them in not any harder when you get ready to get out you have to go thru a set of steps to allow the jeep to start by remote. like he said above,..

I have it and it is great for the price I paid.I have $50 in mine and it was installed by HH Gregg.I have since re wired it some. They had the lights to flash off and on while the remote start feature was being used and I did not like that so now my green lights in my headlights come on while running by remote. But all in all they work great.
