Not gonna do it. Just because I don't like Obama doesn't mean I'm behind "dubya".

afrats 01-21-2009 02:53 PM

Done. He did a great job in the face of adversity. I fully respect him.

I thanked him for you.

txjustin 01-21-2009 04:16 PM

I thank him for not letting the door hit him where the good lord split him.

jpdocdave 01-21-2009 05:00 PM

:appl:

done, my favorite thing about him is he stood for what he believed in, and thats something this country has walked away from, sadly. lets see how a president that won't stand for anything does.

Don't just talk about it, be about it. That is something that the goverment has forgotten

skeeter 01-21-2009 07:43 PM

No thanks.
Bush did a horrible job and has done irreparable damage to America.

and i suppose clinton was the man? but no one talks about how much of this stems back to his policies. and what a stand up guy he was. at least bush had morals, and stood for something.

Well Skeeter, it looks like if you leave that line in the water long enough a fish will eventually bite. :D:D:D

Done. Bush will be vindicated by history. He is an amazing man who always stood up for what was right even when it was unpopular.

I fear for the direction Uncle Barry wants to take us in, "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." (James 1:8)

Agreed. The bad part tho is that there is no discussing anything with the zealots. Might as well stop the argument right now.

jpdocdave 01-21-2009 10:41 PM

i didn't know this till yesterday, bush has both records for approval ratings. he had the record highest approval rating ever recorded for any president at 90%, and then he held the lowest approval rating, not sure what that one was. he's had one of the harder presidencies of our relevant lifespan thus far. maybe going back to the great depression, herbert hoover, and abe lincoln you'll find some really tough situations. although i am not comparing bush to any of them. just sayin what bush brought us through, lesser men would have caved.

Done. I won't sit here and say I have agreed with every single decision he has made, but he did do a lot more good than people give him credit for. He also kept our country safe for 7 years, and made unpopular decisions that had to be made at the time. I don't think I could sit here and say many other people would have been able to handle the stress and decision making W had to go through in the last 8 years, and he did it without complaint while the media tore into him every day of the week.

As for your Clinton comment, think about my posts over the last year. Do you really think I'd hold a democrat in anything but contempt?

jupiterboy 01-22-2009 09:54 AM

IMO, Bush played perfectly into our attacker’s plan. They flew the planes into a building that was the center of the financial mess we are now in. They targeted the assets of companies that are at the center of the financial corruption that is in the news today.

Look where our nation sits today. Financially hobbled and vulnerable. What will a dollar be worth in five years? How does a nation fund its military when the world no longer has faith in the government’s ability to make good on bonds?

I also don’t find moral integrity in George Bush, but then I’m not a moralist. I see a weak, lazy man with a bad habit hangover that is the result of constant privilege. He seems perpetually seduced by the stream of corporate PR he feeds on, and comically willing to believe what he is told because he has never bothered to form real opinions of his own. He looks into Putin’s eyes and sees a man he can trust. I look into his eyes and see a man that doesn’t believe a word that comes out of his own mouth.

Could be we are both wrong, I opined.
