Abbreviations, Acronyms, and Terms
I found this buried in the cellar of the forum and thought that it might help some of our newer members. Here's a list of abbreviations commonly used in forums and also some referring to Jeep parts etc...

Common Abbreviations for Wrangler models (and their ancestors):

MB = WWII Jeep manufactured by Willys-Overland
GPW = WWII Jeep manufactured by Ford
M38 & M38A1 = Korean War era Jeeps
CJ = Short for "Civilian Jeep" in models from the CJ2A thru the CJ7
YJ = The first Jeep to carry the "Wrangler" name. The YJ doesn't stand for anything, it's just a manufacturing code.
TJ = The second generation Wrangler and again, the TJ doesn't stand for anything.
LJ = "Long Jeep" is the unofficial term for the TJ Unlimited edition because of it's longer wheel base.
JK = The third generation Wrangler. The JK label can refer to both the 2-door and 4-door version. As with the YJ and TJ, the "JK" doesn't really mean anything to anyone other than to distinguish the model.
JKR = JK Rubicon model (normally mentioned this war only for the 2-door Rubicon)
JKS = JK Sahara model (normally mentioned this war only for the 2-door Sahara)
JKU = The JK Unlimited (4-door) model
JKUR = JK Unlimited Rubicon model
JKUS = JK Unlimited Sahara model
JL = The next generation Wrangler due out some time in 2017
