Rough Country vs AEV Front Control Arm Relocation Kit
 
Rough Country Front Control Arm Relocation Kit VS the AEV kit
I need to buy one for temporary use.....about 3-6 months then sell them.
Pretty sure Rough Country is $89 and AEV is $99.
*Looks* like the RC is one big piece and the AEV is not.
Does the AEV kit do upper as well as the lower arms?

What is your opinion on them?

They are very similar as far as I know. AEV made a change which connected the two brackets for durability.

One benefit to the RC brackets, the upper CA bolt that gets cut is supplied with the kit (so I'm told)

Regardless you will still get 75% of cost used,

Rancho is soon releasing a 1 piece bracket.

The Rc's are not 1 Pc. Just shown together in the picture.
AEV may be the better option even if you have to buy the bolt.

To help correct the axle angle of course till I install the long arms.........

How much lift are you running and are you on factory arms?

For an extra $10 I'd say go AEV for 2 reasons.
1- the aev brackets have 3 holes for the upper control arms to compensate for different lift heights, rc only has 1.
2- the aev brackets bolt together behind the lower control arm adding strenght.

It wouldn't surprise me if the aev had other advantages as well, those are just two I can see off hand.

That sounds good. All advice is helpful, but that is the advice that I am looking for.

That said, the drop brackets are designed to work with other moods over 2.5" such as a front and rear track bar relo, knuckle over drag link, extended brake lines, etc...so don't expect dream like handling, however, it should make seating the springs much easier in the front if you extend the brake lines now.

I hear ya, I know most of this stuff but I was not familiar with drop brackets. On our other Jeeps I really loved to install the parts (track bar,drag link flip kit, control arms, rear track bar bracket and the others) one at a time or per week to really feel the difference that each part makes. This is just to get me by for 3-6 months. Then long arms.......Wife's Jeep below.

I have the RC ones and no complaints at all and have been running them for over a year

the major difference is the adjustments you can make on the AEV ones , I have a 4" lift and they fixed my issues , so I really dont know what they would do to any lift under 4

At a 2.5" Teraflex lift you really need them. You do float all over the highway. We usually run adjustable control arms. Remember, a 2.5" Teraflex 4 door lift on a 2 door is really close to a 4" lift. We installed a Teraflex 3" 4 door lift on my wife's and it was closer to 5". Now all of these are without aftermarket bumpers and all the other heavy stuff.
But it is good to hear that folks like the Rough Country brackets also.

Wasn't RC the original inventor of these. Or was it Rancho?
All I know, it wasn't AEV.

Im still waiting on Rancho brackets to run a comparison to AEV's.

Aev came out with the design for tj's many years ago, then did the same thing for the jk. Aev came up with it. Rough country and rancho don't develop many original things.
