uh oh

i think i might be dying. i feel like a cross between waves of light headedness and looking at the surface while being held under water. also......my body aches like a mofo.

i thought maybe it was because i was digging up one of our sago palm trees and it poked me in the arm in a thousand places, all the while a mound of fireants devoured my OTHER arm, but according to the interwebz, its only poisonous if you eat it.

i've been popping chingoes of echinacea and vitamin c, but it keeps on getting worse.

also, my wife might have the plague. im hoping she didnt give it to me. thr rugrat came home from school with a fever yesterday too.

did my wife give me the plague? do i have some sort of rapid onset terminal flutype thing?

i dont get flu shots because we all know they're part of a government conspiracy....but im not sure if i have the flu, or perhaps have been poisoned by some sort of government agent for knowing too much.

home remedies? advice? preferred method of suicide? all are encouraged and listened to........

First, make sure your will is in order. Since your wife and kids are ill you better leave the jeep to me.

luckily fireants dont lay eggs inside you like that fly in the amazon does.. or you'd be screwed

while we are on the topic.. i drank a few beers the other nite.. went to go take a piss, my mouth started to water so i spit into the sink when i went to wash my hands.. and i spit up NOTHING BUT blood.. im not the kind of person to faint or get sick when they see blood.. but knowing my stomach was bleeding, i turned to the toilet and hurled.. havent really felt right since.. and i can barely eat..

like 12 years ago i had a hole in my stomach.. hopefully it didnt come back

Oh ick! I'm gonna have to wash my hands after I leave this thread!

I feel your pain. I've been down with it too. Kids are sticky and they carry germs! Just wait until you get to the "50 yard dash to the John" stage of the illness! ;)

As for a remedy... Hmmm, I find a few nice tepid glasses of Brandy work very well. The Brandy may not cure you, but you won't care about the sickness anymore.

I also find that a good method of self disposal would be to duct tape one of those sharpened metal spikes (the kind they use in an office for sticking a pile of invoices on) on one of the major entry doors into the house and then set Indian style and slightly leaned forward in front of it (so that one of your eyes are directly in line with it) and wait for someone to bounce through the door.

Hope you get to feeling better!

Don't forget to drink plenty of liquid! Hey, Scotch is a liquid isn't it? :wavey:

whitebuffalo 01-22-2009 01:37 PM

thats the worst part.....i picked up a beer on the way home yesterday. was drinking it while i jacked with the stupid palm tree.......halfway through it and i was done. no desire to drink it anymore. that was when i knew something was definitely wrong.....

Oh damn man...

That's bad!

Ummm.... You might keep an eye out for the classic sign of bubonic plague which is the appearance of buboes (discolored, swollen lymph nodes) in the groin, the neck, and armpits, which ooze pus and bleed.

Have a nice day! :wavey:

No, they are just going to scrape all the dead skin out. Basically when it all heals I will have a crevace in my leg where they scraped it out.

jgano23 01-22-2009 07:00 PM

eew. don't forget the pics.

afrats 01-22-2009 07:30 PM

I will when I get them.

Well, the light headedness and headache suggests that you're probably a bit dehydrated.
Pump the fluids. Try more water than anything else. Tea, coffee and soda will all tend to help dehydrate you. So drink lots of water. A good sign to tell if you're dehydrated is if your urine is yellow/amber. Drink water until your urine is clear. You'll notice the bulk of your light headedness and headache will be gone by then.

I would take Tylenol for any low grade fever you have. Just remember that too much Tylenol is a bad thing. I would take it as directed on the bottle.

For any aches and pains you may have you should take Motrin (ibuprofen), 800mg every 8 hours with food.

Supplement your fluid intake with Orange Juice for the Vitamin C or take some Vitamin C tablets.

If your cough is productive, make sure you get it out. The most common thing people do when they have a productive cough (i know this is gonna sound gross but most people do it) is swallow it. Just remember the productive side of a cough is basically infection trying to come out of your system. So the more you get out, the better off you'll be.

Try not to let your sinuses drain too much into your throat. Keep your schnoz clean. Put more into the hanky than into your throat. :)

Other than that, all you can really do is rest and let it run it's course.

If you have a fever more than 101 degrees (you could start having altered mental status or loss of sight or hearing) go to the ER.

And get well soon man!

hmmmm...yeah, im a caffeine junkie. i drink a pitcher or two of tea minimum in a day. perhaps i should cut it back just enough to avoid the lack of caffeine headache.

thanks for the advice man. i come to wranglerforum for jeep advice as well as my medical needs :D

If it gets too bad, remember one thing.....its down the road, not across the street.

You mentioned suicide. Common practice if one really wants to end it all is to cut down instead of across.

whitebuffalo 01-23-2009 03:14 PM

ahhhhh. heheheh. i see (said the blind man)

i think if i was gonna do it, id jump off of a really tall building, then shoot myself right before i hit the ground. :D

Coyote_94YJ 01-23-2009 03:19 PM
