World Superhero Registry...

Do not despair people, superheros are alive and living among us...

Quote:

They're either earnestly civic-minded or people with issues, but in several dozen cities across the country, men (and a few women) dress in homemade superhero costumes and patrol marginal neighborhoods, aiming to deter crime. Phoenix's Green Scorpion and New York City's Terrifica and Orlando's Master Legend and Indianapolis' Mr. Silent are just a few of the 200 gunless, knifeless vigilantes listed on the World Superhero Registry, most presumably with day jobs but who fancy cleaning up the mean streets at night. According to two recent reports (in Rolling Stone and The Times of London), unanticipated gripes by the "Reals," as they call themselves, are boredom from lack of crime and (especially in the summer) itchy spandex outfits.
I would like to say I feel safer already, but...

World Superhero Registry

But, the level of lunacy sort of scares me. :D

Those who pretend to be "Super Heroes" really annoy those of us who really are Super Heroes!

There are a lot of crazy people out there. Good thing there are people like us to keep you safe from them!

afrats 01-26-2009 11:37 AM

What a bunch of freaky people. That scares me.

tiny terror 01-26-2009 11:41 AM

Unlimited, I knew you'd be outraged. :D

Well said UL! You know, it really irritates me is that the comic books never get my eyes right! These people actually kinda amuse me, satire is the purest form of flattery.

Fear not good citizen! Fore, as long as I patrol the darkest venues of the night, you shall be safe from danger! Would you like a ride in my Super Hero Mobile?

tiny terror 01-26-2009 12:15 PM

Oh no, I've created a monster. Cain's talking costumes and superhero names..... Lord help us all.

Find out which Super Hero your powers mimic:

thesuperheroquiz.com

I rule the night with an iron fist and have the same attributes as The Hulk, Iron Man and Batman!

On a side note: I picture Ulimited (which is a kick ass superhero name) as a Silver Surfer kinda guy...

If any of you are into comics, Marvel already did something like this in a mini-series. Was actually quite cool. It was called "Civil War".

ccain 01-26-2009 12:51 PM

A war rages deep in the dark corners of my mind. The ultimate struggle between good and evil, if you will. I feel that my urges to use my powers to serve the masses has been overwhelmed by the urges to use my powers to serve ME.

Therefore, I shall register myself with the World Superhero Registry as an "Arch Enemy".

The World WILL be mine! Besides, all those so called "superheros", or "SuperZeros" I like to call them, will all now have an Arch Nemesis! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

The world will now feel the wrath of.....

Doctor Psychoto

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to Lenscrafters to have my Crimson colored eye prosthetics permanently embedded into my face!

I don't do superhero comics, I like the darker stuff.

Cain informed me that I'm sidekick material due to his awesomeness and my proximity to him.

AzTJ 01-26-2009 01:15 PM

I'm not much into the super hero stuff, but the story the did was quite nice.

And I'm all for dark stuff.

tiny terror 01-26-2009 01:45 PM

My favorite was Preacher, I also read The Maxx, Lone Wolf 2100, and Punisher. I like the anti-heroes.

JCS05Rubi 01-26-2009 05:50 PM

Disturbing, but cool. It is nice to know that some people haven't given up hope, and are willing to do what is necessary to make things better.

amy 01-26-2009 11:24 PM

Those people can't be Super Heroes. They don't have arch enemies.

AzTJ 01-26-2009 11:26 PM

How many times does it have to be said... NO CAPES!

*a little The Incredibles joke. :D
