Hello guys, so I'm a newbie to the Jeep Scene as i have recently placed my order for a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. I live in Las Vegas as it be nice to meet locals in the same scene but also open to anyone for advice and input. I'm so excited to pick it up in December. Just thought i meet some people with the same interest and assist me with building my jeep. Ok here comes the questions

1) As far as a lift I've been reading it voids the power train warranty once the lift is installed but not sure what the actual answer is. Also can the dealership instal the lift in any case to keep the warranty valid as i will have a brand new vehicle and having the warranty voided just sounds insane to me. but if thats the case ill just take the hit and get the lift anyway

2) my vehicle will be my daily driver, i was looking on 37" tires with a 20" wheel. Is that practical? Are there anything else i must add to it since they are bigger aftermarkets? Also off roading/wheeling/mudding would be an every now and again type thing as i wont be doing it very often.

3) my vehicle is an automatic is that even capable of off roading/wheeling in the Nevada desert?

The above picture is how id like my jeep to look like same tires/wheel and look or at least close to it... What do you guys think?

Looking forward to hearing some of your responses, Thanks.

Welcome to the Jeep world!

1) As far as a lift I've been reading it voids the power train warranty once the lift is installed but not sure what the actual answer is. Also can the dealership install the lift in any case to keep the warranty valid as i will have a brand new vehicle and having the warranty voided just sounds insane to me. but if thats the case ill just take the hit and get the lift anyway

This has been a highly debated issue. But for the most part, yes your warranty will be voided even if the dealer installs the lift. You may be lucky and have a dealer that is Jeep friendly and not void it. I would first talk with the service manager about it.

2) my vehicle will be my daily driver, i was looking on 37" tires with a 20" wheel. Is that practical? Are there anything else i must add to it since they are bigger aftermarkets? Also off roading/wheeling/mudding would be an every now and again type thing as i wont be doing it very often.

37" look great, but are VERY expensive, will cause your fuel mileage to drop like a rock in water and will put a lot of stress on the stock Dana 30. If it's going to be daily driven, I would suggest 33" tires and 35" max with the stock front axle. Also, the larger in size you go in the wheels the more the tires cost. For example, a 35" tire for a 16" wheel can be had pretty cheap compared to a 35" tire for a 20" wheel.

3) my vehicle is an automatic is that even capable of off roading/wheeling in the Nevada desert?

You'll be fine. Unless you plan on doing some heavy duty use like Baja.

Looking forward to hearing some of your responses, Thanks.

The Jeep pictured is running Nitto Mud Grappler tires. They are great off-road, but will make you deaf on road. Since you plan on using more for daily driving, I would suggest looking into a good all-terrain tire instead. All-terrains will be cheaper, quieter and better in the rain [for the small amount you get]. Goodyear Duratracs are really popular, which I am running myself] and do pretty good off-road.

If you happen to see this rig around town, either wave, or say hi.

Where are you buying your Jeep in Las Vegas??? You can call Chapman in Henderson and find Derrick Goern the service manager and he will talk you through your options and affects on the warranty.

If you can't find him or get a straight answer PM me. It is possible to mod your Jeep and keep the warranty in tact. It depends on what is done and who does the work.
