Advice on Draglink

I have a 2013 two door with a RE 3.5" RE standard lift with shocks. Tires are 35x12.50x17 MTs.

I also installed RE front drive shaft with AEV drop brackets until I get lower and upper arms.

I really don't have any complaints with the steering other than an occasional bump steer on bad bumps in the road. Would just like to get the geometry right.

My questions is this synergy kit sufficient? Do I need the flip kit?

It did wonders for my steering and I would highly recommend. I had a issue with not being able to get the cotter pin thru the rod end and the pitman arm end but from what I understand they have changed ends.

Thanks for the link.....guess I will flip it.

Did you also install the TB reloaction bracket...it says its required.

To answer your question... Yes. You will benefit raising the drag link and track bar. The two will be parallel to each other and front roll center corrected.
Do you have a rear track bar bracket ?

gorillahydrographics 07-29-2013 11:53 AM

So I called RE about their drag link...well apparently the TB that comes with their lift kit doesnt work with their high steer.

Can I use the syngery with my RE track bar?

I have the RE rear track bar bracket.

Did you ask why ?

So... you would be looking at using Synergy's bracket/drag link but keeping RE's track bar?

According to RE, the track bar that comes with the 3.5" lift is not adjustable at the axel end and the joint at the frame is different.

So if I want RE high steer I need a different TB, Drag link, and relocation bracket.

But, this says I would need the relocation bracket and this track bar...

SO if it would work, I would be looking at synergy drag link and relocation bracket. RE didnt know if the syngery setup would be compatiable with the RE TB but I am sure its fine. Or I go with the link for the RE drag link.

Doesn't the complete synergy set up come out cheaper? I'm sure the RE track bar will work as long as it adjusts back to stock length. Raising the track bar brings it back close to stock length and I've see people use the stock TB.

gorillahydrographics 07-29-2013 02:01 PM

Yes the synergy setup is less expensive. I just hate that I have to replace a perfectly good TB that vcame with the lift. Seems they would use a TB that works with other upgrades on the lift kits.

I guess I need to see what the stock length is and if this adjustable one will accomidate that lenght.

I also have a Two-door and have had issues with bump steer, I gave the Fox ATS a shot, check it out...

Lou - Thanks for the information on the SS - I think for me, this would simply be a $300 bandaid. For the same($335) cost or close to, I can get the synergy setup and correct the geomentry issue, improving the the ride.

My 3.5" lift really came out closer to 4.5" lift with the ACOS adjustable spacers up front and the 3/4 spacer left in the rear from the budget boost.

I also have the AEV drop brackets which helped alot until I save up for arms.

kjeeper10 07-29-2013 03:19 PM

without steering correction at that height. Bump steer of inevitable.

Rmiller31 07-30-2013 10:06 AM

Yeah the stock steering stabilizer is more then good enough. All that will do is just mask your bump steer or shimmies.

I've got the stock track bat and it lines up perfectly. Why not just reuse the stock one if you still have it?

Also on the arms I'd upgrade other stuff personally. The stock arms with drop brackets are actually pretty decent. I'd beat on them as long as you can and upgrade stuff you will get more benefit from.

I do still have the stock TB....so your saying use the stock track bar with the synergy high steer?

Rmiller31 07-30-2013 12:55 PM

If your track bar won't work I would reuse the stock before I bought another one.

I've got 3.5" of lift and with the synergy drag link and and the stock trackbar. Using the synergy track bar bracket the drag link and the trackbar are parallel like they should be.

gorillahydrographics 07-30-2013 04:25 PM

Cool..thanks for everyones replies...I forgot I had the stock TB still....

AEV utilizes the stock TB w/ their 3.5" lift and highsteer setup.
