Your link led me to google play to download an ebay app.

larjeep 07-29-2013 09:24 PM

I would ask to see pics of the frame and rust etc. it may be in bad shape. U less u r able and ready to do these repairs.

kjeeper10 07-29-2013 09:38 PM

It's a eBay link. Just gives viewing options on a smartphone.

Willybusmc 07-29-2013 10:28 PM

I'd say great deal. Though I don't have much rust knowledge

dhotch76 07-30-2013 07:21 AM

Thanks

Thanks guys..I thought it was a decent deal.

Jhmace9 07-30-2013 07:26 AM

It says it has frame rot so be prepared for that.

jherrington 07-30-2013 08:01 AM

Unless you are prepared to do a frame swap, I wouldn't.

Take a look at the sellers feedback on e bay. Sold a jeep in april for $4k to what looks to be a dealer. Now the seller has a jeep up for sale. Maybe the jeep was returned to him. I would be vary wary, especially with this sellers feedback.

SAABseanSCANIA 07-30-2013 09:12 AM

Personally, I wouldn't pay 4K for a jeep I KNOW I have to do frame repairs to; but the mileage is low, so do what you wish! The last TJ (1997) I bought with frame repairs needed I paid 1900 and the repairs weren't even that bad; my opinion is $4,000 is a stiff price considering I sold the repaired TJ for $4600 after I went through it (lots of profit for me, but the owner got a road and inspection ready ride with no work or money required like that one will require).

My .02 anyways

That was April 2012, but it still makes be question this whole thing. Seems funny that it was also around $4000.

jeep

Yeah, it looks like he got good feedback on the last jeep he sold. I'm going to take a look at it tonight.

It may be the same jeep, that was returned. Would be unusual that the guy had two four thousand dollar jeeps

It turns out I was looking at the previous one he had last year as well, he only lives 10 minutes from me. Different jeep, same frame issue only this one looks much better and looks to be an easy fix for me. Apparently this guy buys and sells. I like the mileage on this one and it runs and drives awesome, think I am going to pull the trigger on it. What do you guys think?

Be prepared to do a frame swap, which, if you've got a chain fall, and a tree/ sturdy beam. You can do for the cost of the frame. It's really not that hard to do, or so I've been told.

RevCo666 07-31-2013 04:05 PM

Walk away...

biddo63 07-31-2013 05:22 PM

Just my 2 cents. But for 4k if frame is all rusty but rest is in good shape you could part it out and make over your 4k back. I have seen hard tops go for about 1k and full doors sell at about $800. then motor tranny axels transfer case ect ect. Te
hen go buy one with a better frame. A little hassle but may be better in long run.

ChasUGC 07-31-2013 10:11 PM

It looks like the minimum bid is just 3,100.00 Maybe just make that bid, and see if you can save for the repairs. That frame rust may be a big hurdle to get over though.

yeah, everything else is in really good shape, the doors and top are near factory condition. With only 95000 miles, i think I should jump. The last one I saw with 95K was 8000 bucks, the frame was a little better.

Did you jump? It looks like it was sold.

Don't feel bad, there will always be another one. And the next one will probably be even better. You'll be a proud Jeep owner, its probably already in your blood. I can feel it. The thrill is cleaning all that caked mud and remembering the fun you had getting it there.

JeepMyth 08-02-2013 09:34 PM

I don't know if you noticed but the ad says it was in an accident. You were gonna get yourself in a mess, i'd be happy I missed that one tbh.. lol
