Lift questions
Ive spent the last 6 hrs or so reading posts about lift kits, and Im not finding the answers im lookin for so Ill just ask.

I bought a 4" long arm superlift kit and I am wondering what other parts I need to make it work properly. I started to do the install last week and got stuck on step 1 of the instructions. You know "remove bolt from trac arm." seized and will not move. I bought her with 170k mi and am not supprised. since noone in the area had a replacement bushing, the install stopped there as I needed my jeep and could not afford to wait 2 weeks to get back into the shop. I decided to order the adjustable ft trac arm to avoid drilling the hole 3/4" away as there doesnt look like enough room to stay reliable.

Do I need to extend the ft brake lines?

Will I have to replace the driveshaft with a longer one? if so suggestions?

What about gearing? what ratios do u suggest? ( future project) If I change the gearing in the rear, how does that affect the gearing in the front? does that need to change also? Im running 33x12.5x15s.

Will these tires fit b4 i install the lift? (I dont think so but didnt try cuz im a lil on the lazy side).

Do I need anything else to make this thing rite?

What about the upper control arms? do they need to b replaced? if im increasing the suspension height 4" how do they not need to b longer? I guess thats enough for now. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Can anyone give me some feedback on a rough country trac arm? is it worth $115? is there a better one anyone could recomend?

Okay where to start.

1st Most long arm kits come with everything you need. Who did you get the kit from?

As for getting an adjustable front track bar, yes good idea. Rubicon express or JKS make very nice one's as I recall, not sure on Rough county.

Not sure what type of setup the SL LA kit has but most large arm kits have the upper control arms go from the axle side to the long arm itself vs the frame area.

Gears need to match front and rear.

Yes longer brake lines with a long arm are a great idea.

I have a motorcycle shop in Philly, so I got the kit from a distributor of mine premier performance (they deal with truck parts, not mc parts).

I have a 98 tj sport. do u know what gears come stock?

As for the gears I will take a guess. with the auto: 3.07's, 5spd 3.73's or there is a slim chance they might be 3.55s, but that might have only been the 97's.
