any thoughts? as i begin the process of painting it in a couple weeks or so, i will post pictures of the paint process as it is being done.

Its cool till it starts peeling off like a sunburn.

Ask my friend.

Why not use real paint?

Nope

well, to be honest, I painted my front grille with plasti-dip and it has help up very nicely. few nics in it from the ungodly louisiana bugs we have but other than that it really has help up well. for one, my compressor is shot and i dont have proper ventalation to spray it at home, nor do I have the heat source to cure it like a normal paint booth.

i used a 5 hp. 30 gallon compressor and painted mine on the side of my house. check it out in my build thread.

compressors can be bought fairly cheap and rented even cheaper.I paint mine outside and it air drys..just catch a day when it is not raining or windy..with the proper paint and reducer it will set up shortly..

yeah it's nice.I had that building built and operated my welding business out of it for many years.now it's just full of jeep and harley stuff as well as my tools and equipment.it is sitting on a 400 acre farm that I grew up on.it is heaven to me.I consider myself very lucky and have no desire to be anywhere else

I may have to take that into consideration. I worked in a fab/body shop so I know how to do prep work (masking, taping, sanding, etc.) its just my only problem is its my daily so if I leave it sitting up I cant get to work. I may if the weather is nice the next couple days try and get to do it. biggest issue is I live in a "residential" area so im not sure how people around me would feel about having paint particals hitting there house since paint floats forever and sticks where ever it lands.

thanks..it had a ton of clear on it so the paint was pretty much protected..but yeah, that was a jeep we did for my wife and she didn't even want to drive it on a dirt road and get it dirty..Needless to say,we sold that one for a killer price..
